Here in india there are a good number of traditions to bring together the two partners and karwachauth is one of this. A traditional ritual when women keep a fast for the day to pray for the long life and well being of their husband. The fast is finally ends by seeing the moon and ones life partner. The day is full of celebrations with women dressed to their best and mehendi on their hands and bangles in their arms. A days to rejoice the love of being together with their life partner. Is there a way to celebrate relationships in your country ?

Though I'm from India....our community has no such ritual.
We do not have fasting for anything...and it's a personal choice ...for eg. Monday fasting for young girls to get a good husband. But I personally do not fast for anything. Other fasts are a choice that people make for their own reasons.

In South India...we have something called Varalakshmi Vrath ...similar to karvachauth where the wife fasts for the hubby and does pooja and eats only in the evening.
Though all this sounds very sweet and nice...I have never found any ritual in India or anywhere in the world where the husband does anything fot the wife's well being...why this prejudice????

Hi limycyjain,
We don't have that in our Country, we just pray and sometimes, we will visit the monks chapel and give our prayer petitions and have some devotions!
We only celebrate "lovers day" during Valentines day and each couple also observed to have some special trip or dinner for their anniversaries!

We don't have anything like that here in the U.S.
Christians believe you should pray every day for all your loved ones as well as the leaders of your country.
It's a nice idea thought I can't help but wonder if you also have a day where men pray for women.
