When I was a child, my parents used to tell me abou Santa. They told me that if you'll be a good person, santa will give you a gifts on Christmas. Because of what they told me, I'm scared to commit a mistake because i am afraid Santa will not give me gifts (we all know that as a child, we will be very happy if we receive gifts no matter how simple it is). But now that I've grown - up, I realize that Santa really exists but in the name of God. Santa is God and i know that he will give us presents not only in Christmas but everyday.
How about you? Do you believe in Santa Claus? Can you share your ideas about it?

Yes, you are right. Santa's story is revolving. Eventhough we now know that Santa is our parents, still we want to tell it to our future children for them to be able to believe that being a ggod person, santa will give them gifts and when they grow up, they will grow as a good citizen not because they believe in Santa but that is what they used to do and that is what they were trained of.

I used too. Until I found out that my santa clause is only my grandmother. LOL! I caught her one time when she believes I am already asleep I saw her putting something on the sack I hang at window.

I believe that Santa is real. He lives in your heart. Santa is what as known as the Christmas spirit, and I usually have alot of it. Some years it's easier to acheive that state of being than others though. I like thinking about Santa and this topic is timely. We have to get through Halloween and Christmas though.

Yes, I agree. Santa Clause is the spirit of Christmas. Although, here in USA people seem to be forgeting what Christmas is all about. Christmas has become a marketing boom for retail stores. People think now that they have to spend alot of money on Christmas presents. So there is way too much stress and depression during the season.
I believe Christmas has nothing to do with money and everthing to do with family, friends, love and togetherness. The corporate machine is ruining the reason for the season.
Ok, done ranting...
what do you think?

Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.
see http://www.newseum.org/yesvirginia/
I do not know why parents deceive their children about Santa Claus. I think it is to control them around Christmas time so they behave. It is not that there cannot be a spirit of Christmas but why do parents lie to their children and then later the children find out about the lie and the parents are diminished in the child's eyes.
I consider Santa as real as Barbie and Mickey Mouse. We can celebrate their existence but do not have to pass them off as real. Santa cannot be described as God, as I do not believe anywhere in any religion that God sneaks down your chimney and gives you presents.
