I know that there is still a long way to go. Last month I put on a size 18 to be comfortable this morning I put on a size 14 and it went on comfortably. I have just been making small changes in my life but it seems like it might be doing some good. I have not showed a great loss on the scale but I know that might not always tell the whole story. I just added whole grains, drank my water and ate on a schedual. I guess little things make a big change.

That is awesome happythoughts! I know how hard it is getting down in weight. I do think that it all depends on how your clothes fit, not what the scale says. Keep up your changes and you will rock!

Thank you. I hope to make more small changes to add up to a new life for my family and I. I want to be the mom my kids deserve. I want to have the energy to keep up and play with them.

Congratulations! I know how hard it is to lose weight, but you do have to just take it slowly and try to make long-term changes instead of just try to get it all off in a few weeks

Thank you. I knew I felt better but I didnt realise that I was losing that much. I feel so motivated now to get a good plan to get where I need to be.

Good for you happythoughts and I definately agree that making small changes make a BIG difference. I was size 14 in January 2008 and my wedding was in April my dress was a size 10, so I had major work to do the store kept telling me that I should keep the size 14 that could be altered if I got smaller and I told them not to worry I will definately fit, so with a bit of self motivation, I cut back eating white and starchy food such as bread, rice, pasta, I started using my blender more making fruit juice and smoothie, at dinner I had one serving instead of joining my family for seconds and men definately have better metabolism than women, I would put som music on and start my own hip hop routine to burn more, I cut back on snacking at night, did not eat after 7 pm unless it was a fruit or green tea and snacked during the day and sometimes I would cheat and have a chocolate bar or snicker but that definatley goes before 7pm.
In April I got to a size 9, the dress was a bit lose, the store rep was amazed but I was more amazed that I actually did it with just a few changes and did not waste my money paying for gyms which use to be the case because I was not motivated enough. I am still working on getting down to a size 7, I believe after 35 it is still possible.
Keep going, we can do it!

I think it is just the little changes that I have made that made the difference. I am trying to teach my kids that there is a way to eat healthy. I think that doing it for them was the difference this time.

I hope that you persists in small changes. I hope that you achieve your dream. Your motivation might helps me to wake up and start dieting again. A year and a half ago I lost 20 kgs but I managed to gain most of them. © ronaldinu 2008

different people have different needs at different time. You are trying to loose and me and my wife both are trying to gain. Me because I am very thin (underweight) and wife because she is pregnant. So the only change we have made to our daily life is that now we eat more often, five times a day. Earlier we used to eat 3 times a day. Anyways, all the best and may God bring you to where you want to be. God bless.

Little changes indeed make big goals reachable! Congratulations on your smaller size. The best part about what you're doing is that you can implement these changes into your lifestyle, so it isn't a short term solution to a long term problem, it is actually a lifestyle change that will become a habit. Measure yourself, you will lose inches before you lose weight, at least a lot of people tend to. Using that as a guideline as well as your continual move toward smaller sizes will help motivate you and keep you going!
