Cats being lazy?

Maybe it's the weather, my usually enegertic and even michievous cat is now too lazy to move. She sleeps a lot and tries to stay still even when she's awake. Her old toys don't interest her anymore. Thus she has gained quite a lot weight for the past 2 months and it worries me. Someone told me it's cats' nature, but mine's only 17 months, is this normal? What should I do about it?

It might be that she's just not feeling to well for some reason. Cats like people can have times when they are just not feeling 100% they can also get depressed just like we can. I'd just try to give her as much attention as possible for now.

Thanks for the advice! I've been trying to play with her whenever I can for the past few days and bought her some new toys to play with. She seems much better than before now.

When cats are at home, they can sleep with hours, from the time to time getting up into bowls or into the tray. However when we are with them under the tent somewhere in the forest, cats are able to hunt for days on end for everything. So in the bosom of nature the situation is completely opposite - it is I am able to sleep with hours, read the books and eat... And cats at that time are working hard above shooting some living creatures.
