Appeal to Reason - what does everyone else think?

I was looking forward to Appeal to Reason for so SO long... And in the end, I was ever so slightly disappointed. The songs are good, but they're not quite Rise Against type of good. And it's not as heavy as The Sufferer and the Witness. In fact, one song is practicaly pop punk! (The Dirt Whispered) So what do you guys think about it all? A bit disappointed like me? Love it all the same? Don't get me wrong, I still love the album and went and bought it anyway, even though I had already listened to it when it leaked. But I'm just interested in your opinion of the album, or of specific songs.

I love this album...mainly cause most of the lyrics relate perfectly to me. But i'm not disappointed at all and i'm glad they came out with a new album

I must admit, the album has grown on me a lot since I started this topic. Now it's my second favourite Rise Against album! (only second to The Sufferer and the Witness) Also, I went to see Rise Against live last weekend! It was so brilliant!

I thought the album was great. It showed how the band has grown. Hero of war depicts their political views, which any fan can tell you that Rise Against is very anti-war. I do love their hardcore days, but am a big fan of everything that they do.
