"What Makes Me Happy?"

Have you ever ask that question to yourself? I did countless times. And realize that there are many things that makes me happy like my childeren, my family, myself, my friends. The list is countless. But I've read that it is found within ourselves because our thoughts had initiated it. What makes you happy?

As the lines of a song goes (sorry I can't place its name): The greatest things in your life are for free. What seems the simplest always make your heart warm, like children's smile, parents' health, good relationship with friends etc. They are invaluable and immeasurable. No matter how wealthy or how notable you are, life without them is lonely and dark. I cherich my friends, and are always happy to find what's good in them. They are the biggest gifts.

Yes, absolutely correct. Sometimes, we tend to look at the things that we don't have but if we start counting on what we have then life gets better. I used to have so much stress in my work before so what I do is surround myself with my kids and my nieces and play with them. Listen as they laugh and even quarrel of who gets to be blossom, buttercup or what's the other powerpuff girl? lol. It's a breathe of fresh air and a therapy.

Most of us are guilty I guess of taking what we already have for granted and seeking happiness when we already have it right in front of our very eyes. The simple things in life can make us happy if we only look. Our precious family, our close friends, having a roof over our head. For me going to the gym makes me happy because it improves my health, makes me feel good about myself and makes others take more notice of me. Watching a scary horror film makes me happy, as does having free time to do what I like on the internet. Being single also makes me happy because I am a free spirit and far too independent to share my life with anyone.

There are a lot of things that make me happy. Being with my family and to know that they are okay makes me happy. Sometimes little things like child's smile makes me happy. I live beyond the Polar Circle where we have Polar night in winter for a long time and I always miss sun at that period. So when sun comes out I'm always happy.
