We have recently had to renew our car insurance ,and we used the Internet website Compare .com,the cheapest car insurance that they came up with was through the Auto trader ,so we paid up and as we used the online method of payment we had the majority of our documents sent through by email.Well then unfortunately a very kind man in a white van drove into our passenger door,so we had to claim on his insurance. My partner telephoned the number given on the policy to find it was the start of a wild goose chase,he was transferred to many different companies and offices, none of whom really wanted to know of his predicament.Eventually after making many many phone calls he was put through to the right department, and the car was booked into the garages body shop to be repaired. He has NOW got the car back and all is well, but it made us think about using insurance brokers,we have looked upon them as a waste of time in all essence, and have avoided them like the plague, always thinking of it as paying the middle man,but now we have seen the flip side, and have had to battle on to get what we were entitled to with our insurance, which was fully comprehensive we have thought again about using a broker,at least you would be able to hand the details over to them and let them fight your corner, rather than go chasing round in circles .

I am empathic with your case. It happened to us a couple of years ago when a drunk teenager bumped us into our car and it was almost total loss. We had a hard time chasing the right person to get our rights. © ronaldinu 2008
