I am prompted to write this because my niece has a pair of Vivienne Westwood pirate boots,and I think that they look like monstrosities on the end of her legs.They cost an arm and a leg and are just plain ugly for want of a better word.I am sure that there are many Mylotters that will have seen Vivienne Westwood on the fashion programmes on the television,and you will note how outlandish her designs are,she is not a youngster herself by any means,but her fashions appeal greatly to the young with a few pounds or more to spare.I wonder if I am in the minority here,I find fashion ,as in catwalk fashion very hard to relate to,the designs that you see on the wafer thin models are just so ugly and unflattering,the models though many of them have beautiful faces have a size zero body,which is almost skeletal.Then each season the fashion houses bring out their latest range,the in season colours and accessories and the high street chains follow them with cheaper versions to suit most purses and wallets.I struggle with any of this,and am quite happy to plod the boards at Marks and Spencer`s and Debenhams,and if my lock is in it will be a blue cross sale on the day that I visit.
