Does Yor Cat Look At Itsself In The Mirror?

My car does this everytime he sees himself. He stares and then hunches down walking slowly toward the mirror and then pounces at the mirror knocking himself on the floor. This makes me laugh because then he tears off down the hall way and then comes back to do the same thing. He will even run around in circles of the mirror trying to find the other cat that looks like him. He eventually stops after he gets tired but he will do this for a while. But everytime he is in the room with the mirror, he does this. I guess he's hoping to find the other cat! LOL

My cat definitely enjoys looking at herself every chance she gets. She can't go in the bedroom where the mirror is because that is where we keep our hamster cage but our oven is reflective. everytime i go in the kitchen she follows me and looks at herself in the oven door. she'll stand there for at least 5 minutes just watching herself. it is so adorable.

My cats have always been interested in a mirror, at the very beginning they have always attacked their reflection, later they already passed by completely indifferently.

We hold our cats up to the mirror to see the kitty in the mirror. They just look though they have never attacked the kitty in the mirror like you see some cats do on shows like Americas Funniest videos.

Hi there sunkissed. I think i can answer this from the point of view of quite a few cats :) My first cat Speedy as well as my second one that i had Sony both ignored mirrors. The 4 cats of my girlfriend's parents also ignore mirrors. However one of the 4 cats, the only female, just learned to watch TV - she started watching the TV show Planet's Funniest Animals - go figure

my cat does all the time. we have a full length mirror in our bedroom. The cat is constantly staring at herself in the mirror. At first, I think she thought it was another cat. She would look in the mirror, get a crazy look in her eye and then run out in the hall to the other side of the wall where the mirror is. it looked like she was trying to find this other cat. it was so funny to watch. now, she just stares in the mirror. I'm not sure if she's figured it out that it's her or that she thinks this other cat is trapped in the wall.

my cat does look at itself in the mirror from time to time. Other times she just doesn't care. I think she has gotten used to the closet door mirrors because she lays in front of the all the time. That is her favorite place to sleep on the floor in front of it.
