pet monkey?

Just wondering why no one wish to have monkey as pets!
You may say that monkeys are more wild but what ever we made pet till now like cow,dog,cat etc are also once wild and we constantly domesticated so my question is why not monkeys which are so close to our origins..

That's a good idea! I never thought of that. I think some fortune teller or magicians keep a monkey as a pet, to help him perform the show. But it's not easy to get a monkey as a pet. I think it's not available in the pet shop here.
There must be a reason why monkey is not kept as a pet for ordinary pet lovers. I do not why, but I guess, it's not easy. As we all know, it's intelligent and cunning. Because of this, it might have done something other pet won't be able to do. It could played some tricks or misplace our important belongings 
, and I couldn't blame them or reprimand them for doing the nasty things. After they are so smart that, they could mess up our life in way we don't know. May be I could be over worried, but I think they could be tamed and trained to be behaving themselves

I would like to have a monkey as a pet but importation regulations make it difficult if not impossible to own a monkey. I always dreamed to have a chimpanzee like Cheetah in Tarzan's movies. However it's one of those dreams that might remain dreams forever. © ronaldinu 2008

Maybe it is extraordinary experience to have a pet monkey. But it usually trives best in the wild. Considering that it is well taken cared of, then it would be great for it to be domisticated. Thanks for being a friend
