I read this series to have a book to talk to my teenage daughter about.
The big controversy between her and her friends is which character do you like/love better Edward or Jacob?
Also which would be better for Bella, Edward the vampire or Jacob the werewolf? If you haven't read the book or series these questions will make absolutely no sense what so ever.
So don't worry if you read the above questions and are saying to yourself " What the heck is she talking about?"

I have heard of the book but I have not read it, my daughter tells me that some teachers and friends have told her to read it so yes, she refuses to do so, but points at the book at every chance she has just to tell me that yeah, people want her to read but she will not read, lol.

My daughter was reluctantly to read it too but I bought it to read and that convinced her to read it after me. I just kept saying wow this is a book you would love and she skeptically picked it up.
Just today she finished the last book in the series and she just about cried because she was all done!!!!
You may enjoy it as a way to talk about something interesting to your daughter about, worth a try. Cheap way to get a conversation going.

I seen that book in walmart everytime my daughter points to it, lol.
I will give it a try, I am all for having interesting conversations with my daughter that does not involved her hobbies, I get bored and it shows, leading to not so fun conversations, but I realy try you know.

Oh boy do I know what you mean on that. My daughter and I can get into some really big arguements whle discussing a seemingly simple subject.
So this is why I thougt we could talk about a separate subject like characters in a book.
It worked for us and I hope you have the same success.

Bella and Edward just couldn't help but be in love with each other. I'm quite hurt for Jacob though .. sigh .. I haven't finished the wahole series but I thought it was well written and interesting. I can't wait for the movie next month and see if the script does the book justice

I have read the series and thought it was good, not great but good. I also think Breaking Dawn was a let down. I cast my vote for Edward which i catch a lot grief over because of what he did in the second book. I believe he did it for her best interest and can not hold that against him. I thought Jacob was a good guy, but just couldn't accept that Bella loved Edward and nothing he could do could change that. Bella i thought was a little too whiny though.

I agree with you that Bella was whiny . I thought Bella was awfully selfish when she held onto Jacob while being in love with Edward.

I'm definetly on Team Edward :) Jacob always seemed a bit pushy to me, sort of like he was forcing himself on Bella, and Edward's sort of the slightly overprotective gentleman kinda guy - plus, I don't condone Jacob's attempts to win Bella over, despite the fact that he knows she's already in a pretty commited relationship.
