Is Saddam Hussein's death sentence justified?

Do you think Saddam's Hussein's death sentence by an Iraqi tribunal is justified? Life imprisonment is okay but i am against the death penalty. No doubt he is responsible for the death of thousands of Iraqis. But no one has the right to take another's life. What do you think?
