Today in the Toledo Blade they ran an article about Joe and his new life in the spot light. Joe will be on Mike Huckabee's show on FOX news tonight, and on FOX and Friends tomorrow morning. In other Joe news; He has reported received offers to pay off his $1,183.00 lein on his house for not paying property taxes. The funny part of his is the fact that the person that offered to pay his lein, has a $50,000 tax lein of her own. Don't you find it funny that someone who won't pay their taxes, is offering to pay someone elses taxes? What do you think?

Well I think that $1,183 would be easier to pay than $50,000 but, honestly why do people find it so difficult to pay taxes? I mean do they not use public schools, roads, fire, 9-11 and the police, oh and another important one is SOLDIERS I mean unless people think those men and women go off to war for free. LOL Sorry I think that everyone is responsible to pay taxes based on their ability.

Give me a break. The man is loving every second of it, has courted reporters and radio talk show hosts and is having the time of his life. He's playing right-wing media hero and it was his own grandstanding that brought on all the attention. And for the record - you can go back a couple of days in these discussions and see me writing an impassioned defense asking folks to cut the guy a break because we all have skeletons. The difference is - I don't dance around in the spotlight daring people to look in my closets. The only person to blame for him being a national name is himself - with a healthy collusion from your tarnished hero with lead feet.

Because people have been fed a line that taxes are a matter of taking your money away from you and giving it to other people who don't work as hard for it as you do. It's all welfare, don'tcha know?
What I actually find pretty funny is that this guy left from his house to go track down Obama (No, Obama did NOT knock on his door) with the intent of trying to "trap" him with a carefully scripted and completely fabricated question (okay, he does actually know how to lay pipe - he's just doing it illegally), called radio talk shows to brag about it, had reporters sitting in his living room to watch the debate on which he supposedly had no idea he would be mentioned - on which he WAS mentioned 21 times by McCain and 4 by Obama - gave interviews in which he seems to be quite thoroughly enjoying holding forth to a growing fan base - in short, he has engineered his fifteen minutes of fame and is completely capitalizing on it... yet McCain is on the campaign trail accusing Obama - who did nothing but respond to a question from him - has ruined his life. Delusional, much?

I don't think everything you say he did was true. But whether it is or not, it was a reasonable question that he asked Obama. A VERY reasonable question. And why do you think people are believing the line that taxes are a matter of taking your money and giving it to welfare recipients? From Obama's answer to Joe. I want to spread the wealth around.
Whether it is Joe's actual situation, or not, it IS a very REAL situation for MANY, MANY SMALL businesses. And Obama's answer was his alone. McCain is not accusing Obama of ANYTHING, he's just pointing out what Obama wants to do, and how it will hurt people with small businesses.
People always think of corporations like Exxon when politicians say they don't want to raise taxes on businesses, but it is these small businesses that are the backbone of our country that McCain is trying to protect.

Well chameleon I just had to add (sorry for barging in) that he was on our local news saying that he had already voted before he asked the question. Now, that seems silly to question a candidate when you have already voted. Wouldn't it make more sense to ask questions then vote? LOL

I think that person is equally seeking celebrity kind of attention. It should be a gimmick to get into the spotlight of things. It seems to be the norm in the US now.

I think the problem is a regular man ask a question that put it out into the people face what Obama stands for and Obama's troop is doing all they can do to make Joe look like a nogood. We have a lot of people that work as plumbers, they are called plumbers helpers they don't have licenses to do the job. But they work every day, there are many that are working hard to try and aquire the american dream, and will find that when Obama is elected they can kiss that dream good bye. Obama is so scared of what Joe brought out to the public eye that they will drag him down to what ever they can for it.

It is a FACT that under Barack Obama's tax plan, "Joe the plumber" would actully be better off than under John McCain's tax plan. AS a matter of fact, the vast majority of plumbers, and plumbers helpers would be much better off under Obama's plan. I think that Obama is happy about what Joe brought up, there is this fairy tail idea that John McCain's trickle down economic policy will help the country out of our horrible economy. After you look at the FACTS of trickle down economics, it has never worked for the middle class, and has ALWAYS ended in huge bail outs, using tax payer dollars to bail out the same people we already gave them more money to invest. Thus, introducing Socialism into our country to protect the economy from itself. Joe the plumber is a great example of a middle class republican, they follow leaders that are leading them into debt, and they keep on coming back for more, hopping that one day they will be the ones screwing the average American. I think that Joe did a great job of bringing to light the true middle class republican, and I think this will hurt McCain much more than Obama.

WellI for one am sick of this middle class b/s, there are more people in the usa than just the middle class, elderly, disabled, I guess those don't count. Not once have I heard a candidate say a thing about what they was going to do to make life easier on them. It is always the middle class.
Well I think the middle class has most of it now, I was middle class till I had the heart attack, and now disabled. I have a harder time than any middle class to get the medical help I need or to have enough to pay for my electric and buy gas to get to the doctor, many times just missing an appointment, because of the price of gas. And groceries prices rising all the time. I know one elderly lady that is still trying to work, draws very little in pay because she can't get a decent job because of her age, drinks coffee all day long and eats sometimes, a frozen one dollar dinner when she gets home. There is nothing any one will help her with cause her kids are grown. She had one dollar left out of her pay, and she put back for rent on the first. She walks over a mile to work. Did I hear one thing about what they was going to do for us, NOPE, I guess if you aren't middle class anymore, they should just take you out and shoot you, be done with you so there is nore air for the middle class to breathe.
At least the elderly and disabled live in what they can afford and dont' buy houses that are way above their means, then need someone to come along and bail them out when the interest rate goes up and they can't make their payments. If people would live within their means they wouldn't be having such hard times. Who is going to do something for me, NO ONE, except Obama who will put me farther in than I already am.

I am sorry to hear about your situtation, and the women that you mentioned in your post. It is sad that people have to live like that, and you are 100% correct that no one does anything to help them. My wife's uncle runs a mission, and we send them food when we can, as a matter of fact we need to do that soon. It upsets me to see us spend all of this money to help these uber rich people with this bail out, when we have people like you, and this women struggling to get by.
The reason we all talk about the middle class is because they are still the largest voting block there is. I agree that the vast majority of people that need assistance shouldn't have received loans in the first place, but now you have the problem of allowing them to fail would hurt the economy even worse. I think that you would be better off under Obama than you would under McCain, you don't make over $250,000 a year, so you don't meet McCain's requirements for assistance.

Guys... what is the problem with taxes? I don't like them any more than anyone else but I don't like to to go to the dentist either. The problem is, if I don't go to the dentist I will eventually have a mouth full of rotting teath. If I don't pay my taxes, I will find my country has a mouth of rotting debt. If we want roads, and schools and armies.... WE HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM. Everyone should pay their fair share and we wouldn't be in this mess. I am all for a balanced budget.
