I didn't realize how much your water intake affected your body. I know that it is good for you to drink some everyday, but lately I haven't been. It has really shown too. My skin is breaking out more because of it. How much do you drink everyday?

I don't really count how much glasses of water I drink in a day, but I think I am not drinking enough since my skin is dry. I am trying to drink more fluid a day but it seems like I am just going to the restroom more often. If my body really needs more fluid then why does it go out? Isn't it suppose to stay in our body?

Hello! Our body is made up of 70% water. Lots of it is being lost everyday like we sweat when we do our daily activities. Respiration alone contributes to water loss in the body. Therefore, to stay healthy we should replace it by drinking water at least 6-8 glasses a day or more depending on the volume lost. If you exercise a lot, then you need more water intake. Regarding your skin, try to use soaps with moisturizers and apply body lotion after bath to prevent your skin from dehydration. Hope it will help.

It is very important to take the necessary water daily. Otherwise we must be in trouble. To avoid such in future We must take 8 litres of water daily minimum. If more than that it will be the better for our health and wealth. ananth psychologist frm india

I make it a point to drink lots of water everyday. I need it because I do a lot of talking during class hours when I'm having my lectures. We are allowed to bring bottled water inside the classroom, so I get to drink every time I pause. From Atkins:Water:
1) regulates body temperature
2) makes up 83% of blood
3) removes waste
4) composes 75% of brain
5) helps carry nutrients and oxygen to cells
6) moistens oxygen for breathing
7) helps convert food to energy
8) protects and cushions vital organs
9) helps body absorb nutrients
10) accounts for 22% of bones
11) cushions joints
12) makes up 75% of muscles
13)makes up 90% of lungs
14)Your body is roughly 60% water!!!

Hi there Kmarie923!
I do drink lots of water on a daily basis. I drink as much water as I can especially during the days that I work. I teach in one of the universities here in our city and every after class, I drink a couple of glasses of water to keep myself refreshed. I do not want to end up having a dry throat. I drink an average of 2 liters of water a day. When I go to hot places, I can drink as many as 4 liters a day.

The warmer weather always finds me drinking more water but with cooler temperatures my water intake really drops. I know when I don't drink enough my skin begins drying out and becomes itchy. Water also helps take the edge off of hunger so can be a useful tool when trying to control your diet. Lately I have been drinking too much soda and need to cut back and get back to drinking water.
