Do you care whether your topic is brand new or not?

Sometimes I see people saying: I see nobody is talking about this, so I decided to talk about it...
So I'm wondering do you care about that? Some of the topics are posted for several times but they are not old at all~and some are just the opposite.
So, do you care about that? If you do, how can you know that your topic is new?

Whenever I try to start a discussion I dont think if its something that hasnt been talked about. I just write down my idea for a discussion, search and check if it has already been started. If it is I just read the responses on that discussion and maybe even give my own response. If I dont find anything that is similar to my idea then I go ahead and start that discussion.
I frankly dont mind if I have a similar discussion to others since it happens but it would definitely be nice to know that you were the first to start that topic, or at least seem to be.^_^

Yes, I guess I have the same thoughts before I started a new topic.
Have a nice day!

I always try to check if the discussion i am about to start has already been started by someone else... if it has been... then i try to make it a little more unique... or a little of my own... so it is always a must to do a mylot discussion search first before starting a discussion... to avoid repeating a lot of discussions...

I prefer to respond to new topics but if an old discussion pops out that interests me I often feel happy to respond to it. Today a discussion that was 2 years old popped up and I though that I might have already responded to it because I joined My Lot in March 2007. I have to check that I am not about to reply to the same post a second time. There can be five similar discussions and each might be worthwhile responding to.
When I start my own discussions I try to make sure that others haven't posted a discussion exactly or almost the same as me. I try to have detail and ask a few questions. My topic is as new as possible every time. I hope that you are having a happy time on My Lot.

Hi there dorothy!
When I start my own discussion, I do not really care if the topic or subject is brand new or not. It is possible that the topic I have in mind is the same topic that others have in mind. It is very much possible also that the discussion I start have been posted a long time ago. What really matters is that I know that I do not copy somebody else's posts. If ever it is much similar with those of other members, it must have been pure coincidence.
When it comes to responding to discussions, I do not really care if the discussion is new or not. What matters is that I find the discussion interesting and that I have ideas or opinions to share.

i always try tht my topic should be fresh enough to get responses....but sometimes its hard to find such topics which are extrememly new and also the old ones are shown in new topics so i just start whtever i feel at tht time....when i have lack of topics then i go on responding to various discussion and by the time i get the new topics!!!
Gud luck!!happy mylotting!!
