The Man in the Bath Robe!

Canada
October 19, 2008 9:24am CST
I'm laughing to myself as I think of how to actually post this!!!! Yesterday when I was at work (I'm a cashier in a grocery store)at about 6PM I saw a man with is shopping cart going down the isle wearing a.......BATH ROBE! Yes, you heard me right, A Bath Robe! He was well co-ordinated with matching PJ Bottoms and had on a Matching top as well. The Bath Robe was not tied just on and he had running shoes on...Wonder where his slippers went!?!? He acted as if this was a normal thing....Have you ever seen anyone out and dressed like this? I've seen women in PJ bottoms but this!?!? I'd never even wear my PJ Bottoms out....How about you? What do you wear when you go to the store? Have you seen people wearing other strange attire when you have been out and about? What would you think if you saw a man like this? I'm just glad that he didn't cash out at my register...I couldn't help but laugh to myself over this! ~Heavens~

Only Panties!?!? How strange and bold! Here she would be kicked out of the store! At least this man was fully clothed! PJ Bottoms a Co-Ordinating shirt and the Bath Robe over the whole ensemble...I'd much rather have that then the underwear! ~Heavens~

You know that's kind of funny but at least he was wearing clothes. I have to say that I have gone to the store in PJ's before, but not anymore, I don't think I would even if they'd let me out of the house in them. For one, my fiance wouldn't and I'm sure his mom would be giving me the stern "Get your hind in back inside and change, young lady" look.. lol. Then again, that's just the way it goes! Glad you had a good laugh!

Saviour-V teleports in... Down here in Malaysia, such occurrences aren't too rare, either. Except that sometimes, you just feel like praising the porcelain. One very recent case in point was a Chinese man I spotted about 2 weeks ago, as I was driving off to the local mosque. He seemed to be a contractor, judging from his car and the fact he was speaking to a construction worker at the time. Now here's the thing: he happened to be wearing nothing but a towel. And as I drove past him, I thought of the irony of the situation: a middle-aged Chinese guy, a contractor no less, talking to his worker, clad in nothing but a towel. And in the hot sun, no less. That really is the pinnacle of bad taste, but then again, I have seen much worse than that, really...^_^;; Still, it takes guts not to hurl. Now, if it were a GIRL in that earlier case.... Saviour-V grins slightly... ....the situation would've been easier to take. Anyway, cheerio! Saviour-V activates his teleporting device, and teleports out...

OH MY! Out in broad day light in nothing but a towel!!!! I just have to say I could not stop laughing while reading this!!! Thanks so much for sharing this with me SaviourV I'm not sure if it is because they are at peace with them selves or are just crazy! How on earth was that Co_worker able to carry on the conversation I wonder!?! ~Heavens~

yeah Ive seen the pajama bottoms fashion a lot...always wondered about it though...once when I was like 9, I got some hand me downs from a friend that I thought were awesome XD they matched even, shirt and pants, and one night I had nothing to wear to go play outside, so I decided to wear that set, when I got outside, she told me they were pajamas, not playclothes XD lorl I had no idea but she wasnt offended and I didnt care so I just wore them anyway XD

Hello LilPixelle! I could never wear my PJ Bottoms as clothing either but I see Moms dropping their children off at my son's school in them some days...to each his own but this is the first I have ever seen a man dressed that wayand not just PJ Bottoms but topped off with the bath robe! At least he was color co-ordinated! ~Heavens~

You've sure been having quite the time at work of late. Never a dull moment I guess. When I 'do' go to the store, I try to dress as comfortably as possible, but I'm never attired in nightwear. I'll leave the PJ bottoms to the teens, thank you. Many years ago now, I used to attend a coffee house on Saturday nights. There was a man and his wife, who used to come there frequently. They'd be dressed in all types of odd outfits. I won't go into the details here, but believe me, they were 'out there.' The people who ran the place ended up having to speak to them, about the way they were dressed. It was a family place, and folks would bring their young children there. Nice to see your discussions here. Hugs.

My sister would sometimes go out in her PJs to pick up my nephew. This was often very late at night, and she'd never leave the van. She used to hate it when she was all ready for bed, and he'd call to be picked up. Those days are gone forever though, as he's got his license now, and has the use of the van when available. A bit sad actually, as all of 'our' kids are growing up so fast.

Yes, I have seen many women not just teens in PJ Bottoms even to drop off their children at school but I have never done this...couldn't! I can only imagine how they were dressed if they had to be spoken to by someone of the church! Some people have no self consciousness or sense of decency! I used to see a strangely dressed man on the bus also but that was a long time ago and at the time I would see him quite often! Also, something I am not going to go into detail here though some would likely find it quite funny! Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope all is going well! Love and Hugs ~Heavens~

Laughing is good, but please choose your humorous subjects more carefully! This man in the Bathrobe Was properly clothed. Have you all forgotten that Man was created in the Likeness and Image of God? That being the case, does it really matter how we dress or what we wear? I'd very much like to know why this man was dressed abnormally? What was not normal about his dress? PJ's and Bathrobes are worn by most at night, but who makes the rules that say they cannot be worn for shopping and in the daytime? As for me, I sleep naked, and have never been tempted to go shopping in the daylight wearing my Birthday Suit. But if I ever did, Please Remember- I was born that way, and God hasn't made a mistake in a Very Long Time!

I agree with you barehugs and meant no offense in starting this discussion! Please forgive me if I have offended you at all! I only meant that it is not what people normally wear when they are out not that you can't, I have seen many women and teens wearing PJ Bottoms...No big deal it is just not my style but I do not judge because they are wearing them it is just the first time I have seen anyone dressed like that! Thanks so much for sharing here ~Heavens~

I have only seen this once before, I reminded of an episode of regis and kathy. yes kathy so it has been awhile. The guest was mariah carey, I think it was around the time of her breakdown. She appered on the show in a bath robe with teddy bear in hand. I was schokec to see her like this. I would have to hold my sides if I was there with you that morning, technically he was wearing shoes and a shirt so theres nothing you could do about it. If he has no shame or self dignity then I guess he is free to roam the aisles as he wishes.

It was not morning but night....6PM to be exact which makes it even stranger!!! But Mariah Carey in a bathrobe with a teddy bear on TV would be right a sight indeed! What was Regis and Kathy's reaction to that one!?! Thanks so much for sharing here! ~Heavens~

That is hilarious! I will go out to the mailbox, sit on the porch to smoke(we don't smoke in the house), or bring in the trash cans, but I would not leave home in my PJs. Sweats is one thing, PJs is a whole different set of rules! lol Rev Wendy

Hmmmm, maybe the man was dressed for bed already, realized he needed something from the store and just put his shoes on and went shopping before bed? I did actually see an elderly man in Wal-Mart the other day who had on jammies. No robe, just his jammies and slippers. *Shrugs* Who knows. I wouldn't go out in my pj's to do my shopping. But, that is just me.

Hello Linda! I find it shocking as well as to the number of Moms who drop there children off at school in PJ Bottoms....I could never do this! I must say, this was the first time I had ever seen a man and the Bath Robe sent it over the top! Women usually wear a coat over top not a Robe! ~Heavens~

lol I have never seen such a thing.. a man in a bath robe in a grocery store lol he must have been daydreaming or sleepwalking or something in the middle of a public place lol... yeah I've seen a lot of girls (back when I was in high school and middle school) who were wearing pajama bottoms (a pretty weird clothing style if you ask me) but I don't remember seeing anyone wearing full pajamas and going to class like that... but bath robe.. maybe the man's got no sense of privacy of his own.. I would be more than happy to see the man who you saw last night lol But I have seen this.. back when I was in middle school, we had this reading contest or competition with another school, basically it's like which school's students can read more number of pages (kind of silly isn't it?) so there were actually so many girls who would come to school wearing their pajama bottoms (and tops for some) and they actually brought their pillows they use for sleeping.. is there such thing outside of united states? I just find that weird.. maybe they had no sense of privacy back then, or maybe they did, but they just wanted to be a little show off or something of that sort.

Well, at least he was fully clothed underneath the robe thankfully!! He had PJ Bottoms on and a color co-ordinated top as well! As for what those girls did, that is quite a weird way to come to school and with pillows!?!? To each his own I guess! ~Heavens~

Welcome to My Lot lou_66 I truly do value your input here! I just can't embrace that concept for myself as I was raised to get dressed as soon as I got up in the morning and we never had a PJ Day as a family growing up and so that is part of my view I guess...The way I was raised on a farm! ~Heavens~
