My husband is in Chicago working this week and he called yesterday to say that he had been sightseeing at the Sears Tower. I wish I was there. He said that he wasn't going to go up in it because I wasn't there and he didn't want to do everything without me. He did go to the science museum and the Navy Pier. I think he will have to take me sometime next spring. LOL!! Anyway, have you ever been to the Sears Tower and if so, what was it like?

I have not been to Chicago. I would not mind going, but my husband might not. Besides he cannot get around very well now. The only time I saw Chicagos was in the movies so I would not mind seeing it in person. I mean there are a lot of places I would like to go before I die, like New York City, London, Detroit, Chicago, I would skip San Francisco though.

I like Chicago. I would love to see New York City and London too. I don't think I care to see Detroit as I have been around the edge of it and I wasn't impressed. I would not go to San Francisco, but I might go to Hollywood if possible.

I've been up there but it was more than twenty years ago I think. I also went up in the Hancock tower but I dont really remember when it was. It probably was the same trip that we went up to the Sears tower. I have also been up to the top of the Empire State building as well.

I would like to see the Empire State Building! I will see the Sears Tower some day but it won't be this year.

He is. I have been to Chicago before but never to the Sears Tower either. He is glad to go someplace other than Georgia for a change as that is where they worked almost all summer.

I visited Chicago with my family when I was a kid. We all got to visit the Sears Tower and go up to the observation floor (I believe it was the 93rd or 94th floor.) I read a couple of days ago that the Sears Tower will change its name to the Willis Tower, after a company that's moved in.

I don't think that would be a good idea as everyone knows it by the Sears Tower and it is known world wide. I hope that I get to go there this summer and see it.

It was great! I went two times when I was around 17 and 19. I'm not sure that you can go to the top anymore since 9/11. The elevator was an experience in itself. It was an express elevator and took us to the top in one quick shot! They say the building actually sways in the breeze several inches. We could feel it swaying a lot on my last visit! I hope you get a chance to go there sometime.

I believe that he said that some of the crew went to the top so I guess they are allowing it. I don't think that I want to be in a building that is swaying in the breeze.

Oh ITS FABULOUS, I've been up there many times, i live in Chicago so whenever out of town family comes we take them out to downtown. ITS FABULOUS! The best time to go is at like 4-6 in the spring time.. and you see the sun like shining off the glasses all the buildings and you see planes almost as high as you, and the part of the feeling is not only do you get to see the Chicago skyline from another perceptive, but YOU BECOME THE SKYLINE.. its great. There used to be a small private airport but the lake called Miegs Field i believe, this was about 7 yrs back, but once above a time you could sit in this little charter plane and you fly right over navy pier and you fly right past sears tower.. it felt like a dream. I LOVE CHICAGO! IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN HERE YOU HAVE TO COME! CHI-TOWN REPRESENT

I have been to Chicago suburbs but I have never had the chance to go downtown. I may get to do that this summer and if so, I want to try to throw in a little shopping too. Thanks for all of the information about it.

Since I grew up in IL I have been to the Sears Tower quite a few times. The last time I went up it was like 7 yrs. ago when we were there. It was an awesome thing to go see, and go up and to be able to look out. I think it it truly an experience not to miss. And overall, I really enjoy Chicago overall. Yes, it is a big city but there is a lot of Rich history there and Fun things to do.
