I've used five broswers in my life thus far. Internet explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome and....guess what? The fifth one? Nah, not Netscape or Safari; it's Real Player!! I was surprised to discover that the real player could even be used for a web browsing tool. I did surf with it for sometime and it was actually strangely amusing to browse from a media player. However, I quit it soon as I don't reckon it to be nearly half as secure as e.g. Firefox.
Coming back to the topic, which is the fastest browser in your opinion, among the ones you've tried so far?
Let me share my experiences, starting from the worst (w.r.t browsing speed of course). The worst I encountered was Internet explorer 6.0 - I was so fed up with the sluggishness of this edition that I developed a kind of aversion towards I.E. And so, I didn't upgrade to the later versions of IE. Firefox was great, exciting with its wide array of add-ons - but it's speed relatively bothered me since I had already used Opera which was undoubtedly faster than firefox. But ever since they came up with their third edition, the current one - I'm full praises for them. They have successfully emulated Opera providing for a faster surfing experience. Meanwhile, Google tossed in their own new broswer, chrome, which I feel still has a long way to flank the likes of Firefox and Opera. I find chrome a bit quirky - I suspect it's a victim of MPD; while it can zestfully drag some very sophisticated sites at your feet within a fleeting second, it knows to bear as well a bitter indifference to some of the simpler ones.
So, what has been your fastest browser? And what broswer have you been currently lingering over? For basically what reasons? Do share your experiences!

I havenot tried any browser other than Internet Explorer Ihave the version8 beta. I find it reasonable. The best advantage is having "tabs." Just open one browser and have any No of tabs. You do not have to open N number of browsers.

I've only really used internet explorer and mozilla firefox on this computer. I think firefox is better in just about every way... speed being one of those ways.
Speed and safety are probably the main things I look for, firefox I think provides the best combination of the two .

I have used Internet Explorer, and Firefox, Both have their advantages (My brothers dont use Internet explorer, so I can put whatever toolbars I want on there :P) but Firefox is DEFINATELY the fastest, and to me, that is what counts, so I will use Internet explorer once in a while, I definately prefer firefox, I just never could figure out WHY Firefox was (and is) faster

My fastest browser experience has been with FireFox. Sometimes back when I used IE youtube would not load at all. When I switched to FireFox I had no problems.

Opera is my browser of choice, I like the way it operates, and also helps me log on quickly by using its magic wand to add user name and password. I like the Speed dial, which I've managed to increase the number of links to 16 (read instructions for that somewhere). This really makes a difference for the programmes I use most often.
My second choice is Firefox, which again allows you to log on quickly with user name and password. It doesn't come with a Speed Dial, however it is available as an add on, and this is more versatile than Opera, because you can easily change the number of links on it.
I only use IE when I have to, which isn't very often.

Honestly, I think Firefox is the fastest of all the browsers I have used on the computer.
On the hand held device, Opera wins, hands down. No argument about that.
But I have been trying out Safari as well. I like what they did with the browser. But some how, Opera and Firefox still is the preferred one. I do not know why. It just feels more comfortable using Opera and Firefox compared to using other browsers.
Do you feel the same way too?

I have been using Safari since I am a Mac user and really enjoy it. It is fast and easy to use and love it so much better than IE or Firefox. When I am using Windows, I will use Firefox as firefox is pretty good too. I will not use IE, except at work for work reasons. I have tried Netscape before and did not like it very much. I will stick with Safari.

I have been using Internet Explorer for what feels like forever. I never had the need to try any other browser as it never gave me any problems and was always pretty fast for me.
But a couple days ago I could not get AOL to open through Internet Explorer. And that's where my email account is. I gave it two days and it still wouldn't open. So, I switched over and tried if using Firefox. It worked! Plus, it was really fast. I have only used those two though but I definitely prefer Firefox now that I've discovered it and discovered that it is faster.

Hello friend. I have used IE and Mozilla Firefox chiefly so far, but I like Firefox much better than IE because I don't have to turn on many windows at the bottom of the screen as well as those good add_ons, which I love. I don't want to try others since Firefox is good enough for me. Take care, friend.

I agree that IE is just plain wrong. Maybe it's just me, but Firefox is starting to act up and become sluggish to me. I'm now using Flock which is a social browser but is working out for me so far.
