Occasional writers at Helium don't earn much, it's all relative to your commitment and quality of writing.
If you write just one article every day for a year, you would have 365 articles earning you money every day for ever.
There are a few categories that pay out better than others. These are Insurance, Finance, Money Saving Tips, Careers and Health topics.
Once you have more than 100 articles at Helium you will be earning money every day. My top earning articles make several dollars every month.
I have also made hundreds of dollars from Marketplace articles, contests, rewardathon articles and writers stimulus payments.

The pay per view is very low, so unless you enter some of the Helium contests and also get paid by Martketplace publishers, you will need hundreds of articles before you can make any real money. All the people I've heard about who make good money there either have an enormous number of articles posted, or they get work regularly from the Marketplace, which pays much better.

I haven't been able to write as much in Helium recently, but plan to be more active there. I think that rating can also help in getting your articles rate too, so it could probably help too. As long as you follow the guidelines and do your best and dedicate your time writing quality articles, I think that Helium could potentially help you earn some money. Good luck!
