I once dated a guy who was a stand-up comedian at night. He had a regular day job but was also into racing. He was around for some of the technical stuff on "Days of Thunder" with Tom Cruise. He was an extra and in the pit crew in a few scenes too. Or so he said. He was a friend of a friend who verified it. I actually never even saw the movie.
Have you ever known anyone who was in a movie? Some of you from California or New York may know many. How about the rest of you too?

So you mean whenever they have those hillbillies in the movies, they ain't real?
Actually my father in law is a southerner and since marrying my husband, I have been pretty sensitive to the way people in the south are portrayed on TV and in the movies. You would think that it wouldn't be that way anymore, would you?
Thanks!

I think the south has the most genuine people you will meet! Tennessee is a beautiful state. I was only there once when I was a kid with my folks. We went to Nashville for a few days. I just remember being surprised by how many people will just start up a conversation with you! Very friendly!

I've met quite a lot of celebrities but I didn't know any of them well. Somebody who used to work with my husband once dated Bruce Willis. Other than that, because my husband worked at CBS studios for a while, he met a lot of people, and I met a few of them. I also had quite a few celebrity sightings around town and and malls and such before I moved away from Los Angeles. The last one was Arsenio Hall, I think.

Many years ago my dad and step mother were living in Jackson hole Wyoming. A movies company came out there to make a movie called "Trail of Tears." It was a movie about the Indians being moved to a reservation. They needed a lot of extras to make the crowd of Indians. So my step mother volunteered to be in the movie. I have never seen that movie so I don't know if she was. You probably couldn't see her any way because she was part of the crowd of Indians walking in groups.

Hi ya rocketj1
I don't know anyone who appeared in any movies but my dad once appeared as an extra for a popular British tv drama that was filmed in our hometown. I also knew someone who jammed with The Eagles on their lates album on his bango and got paid for it though I am not sure if his playing made it to final cut of the album, have never checked and less said about the person I know who did this the better!!

Hi rocket!
Yes, I have she was my mentor in my cell group for our christian community. She was a comedian and I saw her on tv and in the movies when I was younger. We meet twice a week for discussions. She is a very nice woman and I looked up to her for her personality and the humor that she has even when she prays to God. I often think God was glad He made her because I am pretty sure God laughs when she talks to Him. She has moved to Cananda now with her son as a registered nurse. I miss and love her very much.
There are quite a few that I know but only a simple hi and hello. She was by far the closest to me from the movie industry.
