Have you ever been interned in the hospital? If yes, why? How you felt in the hospital? If not, do you think you can feel good in the hospital? Do you think the staff in hospitals can make the sick, feel better (both, morally and physically)?

The last time I was hospitalized was January this year. My gallbladder had to be taken out as there was a cyst on top of it and was causing so much pain already. My mom and sister had their's taken out already before mine. I was confined at the Medical City,Mandaluyong City Philippines. It is a great hospital. Looks more like of a hotel than a hospital. Patients get to choose food from a menu the day before each day of stay in the hospital. The doctors services are excellent. Patients are treated like kings and queens. They really come to the room and introduce the team to do operations. They give a detailed procedure on what to expect without making the patience nervous. The nurses are very nice. ATM machines are available in each level. Security guards are plentiful. Vallet Parking is available. It has several high end restos that can deliver food to the rooms plus a starbucks in the ground floor.Really great...The Medical City...I salute you!

So you were "interned" in a royal, in a palace. There you go! Even if the hospital would be bad, I think the staff could make him beautiful, but often it does not. And we have good hospitals, but although it is beautiful, doctors are not really understand.

I was admitted to a stay in hospital about 12 weeks ago now because i had severe pain in my stomach and they didn't really have any idea what was wrong with me but my bloods were abnormal so they put in a drip and pumped that much fluid into me in a 24hr period that I had the worse headache of my life and my whole right side of my body buffed up that bad that I looked like the mallowman I was so swollen and I told the nurses and they had no idea why i was starting to buff up like that and just gave me panadol for the headache and when the nurse came to put a new drip in which would have been the 6th bag in that period of time and i said to her that I thought it was all the fluid that they were given me that was doing it and she said that she wasn't sure but would still connect this bag and I said her no way were they going to give me any more and she was like well I just can't stop the drip and that she would have to go and check if she could and then she came back with her tail between her legs and said that yes it was alright to stop the drip and within a few hours I had started to feel a heap better but the doctor still didn't come up with what was wrong me and they didnt fix me only made me sicker then what I was when I first went in there Anyway in the end the doctor has put it down to be IBS and I am still getting the pains in the stomach all the time and my other half teases me all the time about going to take me back to the hospital and I tell him that the only way that he will get me to go back there is when I pass out and have no choice .......

Nope, never been hospitalized. I imagine that if I ever do, I might get even more sick since I find hospitals depressing. The environment is too sterile, and don't even get me started on the food. :-D

yes, i've been hospitalized on december last year. i had a minor surgery and i spent almost two days at the hospital for it. well, my sister came with me since she's a doctor and assisted me with my hospitalization. good thing that my previous company gave us a medical benefit so the health insurance paid for the hospital bills. one the that i remember the most during that time is when i was injected with something called "nubaine" (i'm not sure with the spelling). i made me feel heavy and groggy and the next thing i knew then was that the surgery was already finished. i wasn't able to interact with the hospital staff since it was only a short period that i stayed there.

Yes, I got confined once. I was 16 years old at the time. I fell down the stairs from the top straight down to the bottom. It knocked the breath out of me. The following day, my lower back was hurting so much, so they brought me to the hospital. I was x-rayed. They found nothing wrong. When the pain subsided it got boring for me at the hospital. As I remember it, the staff and everyone at the hospital were great.

I've been hospitalized several times. One was in the 7th grade when I had to have surgery on my ankle. The next time was when I ended up having my tonsils removed. And lastly, was when my daughter was being born. The hospital I went to (on all 3 occasions) was perfect! The doctors and nurses were truly genuine when they would ask if I was in pain or if I was feeling sick. Their smiles helped me overcome a lot of the mental pain I was going through.

I think bed side manner has gone down A LOT in some medical workers...probably because they are so stressed... but it doesnt help... I was hospitalised when I was 2-3 because I was dehydrated... I remember all the time Either my daddy or my mommy was with me... well almost all the time, mom couldnt drive so dad had to drive her back in forth, but dad brought me my coloring books and he got me stickers...they were mermaid stickers I thought they were so pretty, he helped me put them on my coloring book...because I couldnt get one on for some reason, it just wouldn't go on right... yeah... I miss my dad.

I have been in the hospital quite a few times, not all of which I can remember the reasons because some I was too young to have any memory of it. I think hospital staff if they know what they are doing can make you feel better physically. I don't know about morally though. haha. For me, I just can't be comfortable in a hospital. They make me feel like I'm in a prison and I just want out of there as quick as possible.

I have been hospitalized many times before and it's already a part of my life. I have transfusions usually after a month or two depending on how long the blood will circulate in me. I got used to being hospitalized and a having a headache and bad stomachache is a bad symptom for our doctor so I have to be hospitalized then and there.
