Making friends online is fashionable

Going online is a fashionable way to make friends. Some people believe that is a good way to meet a lot of people. We can express our ideas online, and if we have a chance to make a foreign friend, we can practice English. But some people think it's bad for us to have online friends because it wastes a lot of time. Maybe we will get cheatde by someone.
In my opinion, we should make full use of the good side of the Internet, and eliminate the bad side. Maybe making friends through the internet is good for our life and studies.

I personally love to meet new people especially people, in my case, outside of the United States. People who live in places I have never been before can share with me all the interesting aspects of their lives and culture is really cool to me. Why not meet new people? Every tool has a bad side to it. Chain saws can cut a human in half and fire can destroy a city in hours but each are important and powerful tools in the right hands that can help people.
