This is the second time I've tried to post to this discussion. Mylot ate the first one apparently. If I have no creative juice, that's why I come to Mylot. People here always have interesting discussions, which I can comment on. That gets me restarted writing poetry, fiction, and blogs, which I want to do more than I want to post here normally.

I step away from the computer with camera in hand. I go out for a breath of fresh air. I play with my daughter or pets. I spend time with my husband. I help out a neighbor or email a friend. I take lots of photographs of things that draw my attention. By the time I return to my computer, the juices are all aflow! Hope this helps, nice to meet you!

I don’t know what type of writing you do, but I do freelance web content writing. I have some clients that I write for and they always provide me with topics and then I choose the articles to write. That is much easier.
I also write for myself. I have a website and a few blogs and I submit to places like Associated Content. Sometimes, I feel at a loss for ideas, but I usually just go for a walk or actually examine things in my home. This helps to give a lot of items.
I will also visit keyword tracker websites and pick a word. It tells you what people are searching for. You get the phrase they are using when searching for that particular word. That also helps to give me ideas.

I write every day and I can always find something to write about. I post in discussions at myLot, where there is no shortage of topics to write on. I post on one or both of my blogs, about my life or my writing activities. I write articles at Helium, where I can find subjects to write about in the Marketplace, in contests, in debates and in the many different channels.
If I feel that my creative juices are not flowing well enough to write on any of those sjubjects, I go out and walk in the open air. Either I take my mind completely off my writing, or I think about a topic I want to write on. It always works for me, as new ideas and inspiration come to mind when I walk.

I keep a pen and paper next to my bed because my best (and sometimes craziest) ideas come right before sleepytime (btw, I now know how to write in the dark) and just like keep a pen and paper on you, keep an eye out for way out there things your friends say, get ideas from other media, etc. one of the parts of being a writer is recognizing a good story line when you see it, keep practicing I've even had dreams play into my writing :P
