Hi again Tushavi!
I've no idea what would be the hardest language in the world. What I would like to say, is that foreign language learning in the state schools in the United Kingdom is almost non-existent. It is a great shame, as the earlier a person can begin learning languages, the easier it is, as the mind is so much more flexible at a young age.
English is certainly not the easiest language to learn, I know! When I was at school, we weren't taught so much about the grammar of the English language, as the fashion was more for free expression.
With the spread of mass communication, English, thankfully, for all the non-native speakers has become a lot easier over the years! Even in the UK there are other languages besides English, we have Welsh, Cornish. Also, there are many different accents and different words that people use....
Mainly, of course, people use English. Of course for the non-native speaker, hearing someone speak English in a Scottish, deep West Country or Newcastle accent can be pretty difficult!
Have a great day! Dreamhealer

naaaaah, I believe English is the easiest language in the whole wide universe D= no matter the accent!
I for one vote chinese to be the hardest, and kinda really tiring to listen to for long xD and Arabic as 2nd.. actually I think newbies who are trying to learn Arabic from scratch without being born in an Arabic-speaking country have a whole lot of hard time learning it than they would learning chinese

Many people actually say that it's English! Because of the many different grammatical rules and pronunciations etc it can become quite confusing for people trying to learn it as a second language. I would have to agree with you that Chinese is one of the more difficult ones and I personally struggled with all the different sounds that similar words were spoken with to mean different things. I also found Hindi pretty difficult and am struglling with Arabic now that I am in Egypt. I know a few phrases etc but I struggle to hold complete sentences or discussions. Any language that involves the use of the throat and particular tongue accents are difficult for me. European languages I have few issues with; and my wife speaks Tagalog and I seem to have picked up a good portion of this language quite well also.

As i feel that mother tongue is the hardest language in the universe.
Because we are using this language from the first day when we learnt speaking and till today we are not able to know all the things of the language which we are using.
try to learn your mother tongue and than think about the others

Hi Tusahvi! Are you learning Chinese now?
I do agree with you that Chinese is very hard to learn though I am a Chinese. I try to learn Japanese myself and i find out it's difficult, so I think Japanese is hard for me to learn. Some of my foreign friends are learning Chinese very diligent, they are good at writing and understanding, but still, they pronounce strangly even they do their best.
There is an example. Da Shan, a Canadian whose name is Mark Rowswell, become a famous star in China. Most Chinese would not say "He speaks Chinese really good" We consider him as a native speaker. Da Shan has been to China since 1988, he learned Chinese untill became a Xiangsheng (some kind of comedy performance) actor. So, if you really want to learn a foreign language, not just the language, but learn more about the culture, history, humanity, etc.of this country.
plus, i think Da Shan has a gift of learning Chinese. :D

I cannot tell you about the hardest language but I can tell you about the easiest one. The language that you know is the easiest and when you know how to read, write and speak Chinese, I am sure it would become an easy language.
