Research shows that a pigment called Lutein can help protects your child's eyes. Lutein acts as filter against harmful blue light. Blue light is a wavelength within the visible spectrum of light. It is present in varying degrees and intensity in all visible light sources. When the eyes are exposed to excessive blue light, a chemical reaction takes place in the eyes' retina. Lutein can be found in areas of the retina's light receptors where most of the possible damage by blue light can occur. Lutein acts as antioxidant to combat free radicals in the eye. Excessive exposure to blue light can lead to the formation of free radicals from accumulating and from causing irreversible damage to the eyes.

I know what you mean people say that Lutein is good for eyes and can help be a filter against the blue light which is supposed to help your eyesight and make you be able to see better,my mother has trouble seeing, especially when it comes to reading up close, and she has to wear glasses, and the last time she was at the eye doctor,he told her to start taking Lutein to help improve her eyesight, she has been taking it for a while, and I am not sure if it has helped her or not,but I hope it does make her eyesight better.
