Though we know that most discussion or probably ALL discussions with links are being deleted soon after mylot discovers it. Do you still post a response though you know it will be deleted soon? Just curious cause I feel like wanting to avoid them cause your earnings will also be deducted once they delete the discussion.
What's your opinion?

Never do princejay.
If I wanna check something out, I'll do it away from mylot later on.
No sense losing any money over it, I figure.

It depends on what types of links they are - The links that refer to articles are interesting - I just don't like the links that are obvious spam!

That might be one of the reasons why my earnings decreased. I have been here for a year and a half but I'm not aware of that rule. I would not post on topics with links from now on. I used to put links on my discussion to serve as a reference to avoid plagiarism. Now that I know that it is illegal, I will not post on discussions with links anymore.

to remove creating links, break the web address or link... or remove the http prefix... it's good to be aware, isn't it?

If a link is relevant to the discussion and does not contain a referral ID (affiliate link) then it is not a violation. In that case I respond with no problems if I find the discussion interesting.
If I see a discussion with an affiliate link (referral ID) then I will warn the user that he/she is violatiog the Guidelines even though I know I will earn nothing, except maybe a friend, for doing so
There are other types of discussions which are also violating and will be deleted such as milestones and earnings discussions which I do avoid however.
If only more users would read the Guidelines

As a new user, even though you should be aware of the rules, I doubt you will lose your account if this is something you have done only once. Most new users are not aware of this rules until someone points out this offence to them.
As long as you donot repeat this violation you will be ok I guess.
Happy posting!
