What's the funniest trick you have taught to a pet?

We once had a parakeet named Spike that I taught to say "Here kitty, kitty!" We called him suicidal Spike. How about you?

My sister-in-law tried to: 1. teach a parakeet to hop like a parrot 2. teach a female dog to lift her leg to pee But as for me, I don't think I've ever taught an animal to do anything.

I can't take credit for teaching him this, but we had a cat named "Coal" (The darkest black cat I had ever seen) When our oldest daughter was about 8 months she was start to crawl. Coal would wait until Megan crawled to the hall way entrance. As soon as she got in the doorway Coal would dart from his hiding place, Fly into the air. Land on Megan's head, jump off her head to the end of the hallway. Megan would then turn and sit down trying to figure out what happened so Coal would take off again from the hallway, land on Megan's head and jump to the couch where he would quickly disappear into the shadows. It was hilarious to watch.

Actually I did have a cat. He was well aware that he was not supposed to touch that bird (who was safely out of reach) and would howl occasionally under the cage stand. The bird also said "Crazy Bird", "What are ya doin'?", "My name is Spike" and "Hey, bird" too. A lot of times is would come out "Crazy kitty" or "Here crazy bird". He also imitated the cupboard doors opening and the kitchen door too. That one fooled my husband once and he was wondering who the heck was coming in the house one night!

that's really cute. u spent alot of time w/that bird. we had a parakeet once & my dad taught it to say a few things. i don't ever hear of anyone talking about having one now. guess they aren't as popular as they use to be.

Hi rocketj. I once had a dog that I used to tell to "whisper". When I told him to do that, he would just bark real soft. Then I would tell him to bark, he would bark louder. It was so funny. I love animals and it's fun to watch them do funny things. They can be so entertaining. LOL.

We taught our dog to get the newspaper every morning and this was pretty cool actually. We would just open the front door and he would run out and get the paper and then drop it on my Parents bed. One time though he was gone for ages and when we went out front to check on him he had grabbed about 10 newspapers from all the neighbours lawns as well! My SIster and I had to go and knock on all these people's doors really early in the morning just to find out who was expecting a paper and didn't get one! lol.

My dog used to do all kinds of cool things. I can't really say any of them were funny though. We used to play ball with me. I would toss her a rubber kids ball and she would bounce it off her nose back to me. She used to do the funniest things to try and get to that ball though. She would not miss it if she could help it. She was an awesome dog.

Our dog is the boss and when she doesn't get the resulted action she wants she lays on her back belly up until someone notices. The longest time we have seen is 15 mins,
