I do believe that cell phones are too overpriced and that the cellular companies take advantage of the public with their policies. I wanted to upgrade my phone but they were so expensive so I called Nextel to see if they had any deals for long time customers. I was told that if I upgraded my plan I could choose from a selection of phones that listed on their website for over $200 for something like $50. But I would have to agree to another two year contract and I didn't want to do that. So, I found a phone I liked on Ebay.

I guess it all depends on where you get them from and what type pf plan you going to get. I do not know where you are from but here in the US if you get a prepaid phone you have to pay full price for the phone you want if they are not having a special. Then you can get a phone for a discounted priced if you get a 2 year contract plan. Mostly with contracts you can get a free phone.

I feel cellphones not too much expensive because as there are many brands available every brand is trying to give their products with less cost and with more facilities so in the way the China mobile also came like that so I don't feel that cellphones are too much expensive.

hi friend,
I think that mobiles are not too expensive.
This is bcoz different mobiles with different features have different rates.
If u want to have more facilities in your cell phone like camera, music player,etc... u will have to pay more for it.
And even if u know that they are manufactured at a small rate,we hvae to buy them bcoz we have no other option...

well every company's goal is to make profit and reach the top of their industry. it is the same with cell phone companies. it is also dealt by the demand as well, cell phone's convince and multi-purpose really expanded its intended users from just teens and businessmen to the seniors. as long as there is demand, prices will stay higher.
in addition, it usually is not the cell phone that people buy that makes the most money, it is the "gadgets" and plans that people have to subscribe to. plans are nearly fully profit, it costs the company very little to serve one person's phone usage. the gadgets like headsets and containers also make good money because of its cheap manufacturing.
