I actually own a nikond40. brand new, bought less than a month. it's cheaper to buy from Hidalgo in quiapo. Just at the back of SM Carriedo. I only bought it for 23k together w/ a tripod. you can also pay via credit card it's just that w/ 6% interest. I believe at some stores, you can also buy 2nd hand cameras... check it out...do some canvassing if you have time

i really know that part... i am really into photography... i also know that it's not the camera but the person behind it... but there are still things that i want to do that i can't do with a point and shoot... and i know that you know what i am talking about because i know you love photography too. i just can't use a photoshope forever every time that i don't meet what i want to capture... that is degrading to my artistic abilities. you know like light of the sky... i can't even use filter for a point and shoot. coz that would be imposible... i am just use in using a slr camera... well i have a film slr but now sometimes its expensive to use films... i have already this huge collection roll films don't have space left. well i was in photography since i was like around 9 or 10. and now i am in college.

are you really into photography? because if you you are, you can still practice your hobby even w/o a dslr. your camera has nothing to do with making great photos. you can actually create magnificent images with any camera.

Hi, DSLR is quite expensive. You can try to have a look at Sony A100 or Sony A200. I think that both models are quite affordable.

well i only need to buy a dslr and believe me i know it is very expensive... thats what i just wrote above. but the thing is there are alot of advanteges if you use a dslr than a point and shoot camera... i can't a just the apreture the way i want it to. i can't adjust the speed the way i want it' to. i can't change the lense the way i want to. if i use i point and shoot. i can't even have a nice micro shot of the things that i want to capture. but friend if you have an idea on how i can earn to buy one. that would be a very great help from you. but thanks for all the help that you did... giving alternatives on something very impossible in my life time(for now).

I agree with what you said though that a DSLR offers more creative options than a point-and-shoot. Didn't you know that you can edit a picture to make it look like it was taken by a DSLR? Anyway, it takes time. I'm looking to get a DSLR myself next year. Try the Nikon D60. It is better than the D40. It has a sensor cleaning feature which is absent in the D40.

well depends how old you are. im guessing you do not have a job yet. i am also guessing dslr means digital single lens reflex camera. i would have to say to collect cans and bottles. if you have a local recycling center nearby then you have the convince. just collect at school or the local park or even as your neighbors each bottle or can is worth approximately 5cents, so 20bottles is 1$. one by one and youll earn enough money for that camera. in about a month i collected about $110, but i probably could collect more but i did it for about half and hour 3-4times a week

If you don't mind to get an old DSLR, you can always look for a part time job as a waiter or similar and you will probably be able to get a new Nikon D40 or an old D70 (body with 50mm lens). I think in this way, you will probably be able to get your christmas gift...Another way is to get a SLR instead of a DSLR. It is relatively cheaper for the body but more expensive for the films in the long run.
