Trying to reach the "Today's Top discussion".

I got some of mine in the top discussion but not all. Sometimes I write something which in my opinion is fantastic but I get meager responses. Then I start a new discussion about a silly subject and it gets a positive feedback with a lot of responses. Sometimes I cannot make head or tails of this. I dont know how its calculated. Im not familiar with the criteria to make it to the top discussions. I also didnt strive to make it into that page but one of my discussions some months ago made it. I didnt even expect it just logged in mylot, went to the discussions page which would bring you to the top discussions page as default and I was surprised to see my discussion there. and I dont think that we get notifications or anything if our discussions get to that page. We would have to check for ourselves. Since this discussion was started '1 day ago', Im thinking that it mightve already made it? Well, guess it just needs a good topic, good timing, and some bit of good luck.

Yes I have been in top discussion for the day before. I don't know the trick for getting a lot of responses. I try to post quality discussion and I am often surprised at the ones that get the highest response. I believe it was a political discussion but I had the top discussion and it really wasn't that difficult though I think those topics brought my ratings down with the little kids in here.

I remember my BOF had told me that at least two of my discussions got to the top discussions. That was long ago, about 3 months now and I haven't experience that to happen again with my discussions lately. I know it's hard to get to the top. You need not just think of a great topic but you should also maintain a good response-comment mood to keep the discussion hot and later bring it to the top.

It's not hard to get your discussion into the top discussion; just read and rate the responses in your discussion Top discussions are not based only on the number of responses but also the number of ratings

I have had about 8 of my discussions reaching the Top discussions. Half of these have even made it to the hot discussions.

You right. It's very difficult. To be top discussion you must have a discussion that been response by many myLotters in a short time. For example you get 6 response in the same time. So you will see your discussion in there, but it's only a few minutes, because many discussion that been started and been respond by many members in short and same time. keep post happy myLotting...
