do you like listening the compliments? do you think that is good?

my fiend called mayer,a brilliant grauate student in her early twenties who came for consultation,insisted that she could improve only with critism,her reasoning was that she knew the bad ones,to have more knowledge of her negative qualities ,she believed ,would add to her self-understanding and thus enable her to ackonwledage and to understand her stengths ,she had assembled detaild and extremely negative view of herself,but they were either exaggerated unreal,
despite her attactiveness to others,she conviced herself that she was ugly,when her family bought her new and well desinged clothing ,she left them at home for weeks,when someone compliments her on what she wore and asked wheher it wae new ,she could honestly answer no,she did not deserve to wear new clothes,
she often rejected their compliments ,and appreciation ,not in angar but in ambrrassment.
and my friend,do you like compliments?
and what about you idea ?

yes i like compliments....but only sometimes, if a person keeps complimenting me time after time after time then i began to think something is wrong. or that they are trying to make fun of me. as for the story, i think that she should have started excepting the compliments and tell her self that she did deserveto wear those new outfits an not try to hide it.
