I have a pet dog and i love it so much that i named it a human name. i call it roshan, meaning light. he brightens my life and hence i have named him so. it is a great experience to be around my pet. i spend a lot of time in the evening with him.
Whats your pet's name? How about having a human name for a pet?

I dun have a dog, but my frenz do.. And there are alot of funny names such as sparky, hazel, bur, as well as a very expensive name, beemer.. lol =D
So far, beemer is the most unique name i have ever heard on a dog, when it's the actually name for, BMW.. lol =D BUt after hearing it for sometime, beemer sounds cute for a dog too, and especially for that breed of dog.. haha

Roshan meaning light..... what a great name to give your dog because he brightens your life.
I have a dog with a human name right now. Her name is Holly. I had other names in mind for her but we rescued her from a shelter and they always give dogs names to make them more appealing to people looking for a pet. We could have changed her name because it was not official, but since she was a Christmas present to me and holly is associated with Christmas I thought it was cute and just kept it.

I have a Toy Poodle named Prince. Some people think that he is named after the singer, but he's not. I just happen to like the name. I think a human name for a pet is fine. It's totally up to what the owner feels fits their dog's personality I guess. I personally had this name picked out for my dog before I even got him. If I had gotten a female dog I would have named her Fancy or FiFi. Maybe I will get one in the future. He would really love to have a gf. lol.

I love the purpose behind the choice of your dogs name.
My dogs name is Roxy Raphael.
When I got my dog she already knew her name as Roxy.
I added Raphael as in angel.
Our other dog is a Jack Russel Terrier and his name is Jack.
Jack Russel.

I've responded to such a question earlier, but here goes. My first one is Trixy, after our old doggie whom we lost many many years ago. Her son's name is Teddy. He looked like a little teddy bear when he was a pup and hence his name. Then we have Maggie. She has a tail that keep wagging all the time. So at first we called her Waggie (she was picked up from the street). Somehow it didn't sound right, so we just shifted it to Maggie. And again we have one running here and there and so she was named Gypsy. Then there are Teetoo and Whitey.

My dog's name was Simba. I prefer calling my pets animal names instead of human names in case other human beings get offended. Otherwise I don't have a problem calling them a human name. © ronaldinu 2008

My dog's name is Bandit. We just came up with that name when we were selecting one for him. And I guess we kinda got used to it. I think it's a cute name and it really catches his attention everytime we call him by that name. :D

I no longer have a dog, but when I did, his name was "Bear". I wasn't very keen on that name, but he was an adult dog when I got him (6 yrs), and changing his name would've been difficult.
I like human names for pets, because they are part of the family. Just as I put careful thought into the names I gave my children, similar thought is put into my pet's names.
I currently have a kitten, and named her "Katiana", but we call her "Katie" mostly. Of course, she can be called "Kat" for short.
