Bala, Like most i would say places like Iraq, Afghanistan..where you are not sure whether you will live to see the next day or not. Of course there are other places as well where there is scant respect for human life.
Give me additional sum of money to just go there along with the ticket and food and you will get a polite NO from me.

The traveler in me would not allow me to reject any offer like that. I love to travel but hardly get any time now. And there would be hardly any place on earth that I would not like to visit. It's a learning process, a discovery, a challenge and a life.
But if you insist, it would be hell for sure. Who on earth would like to visit that place! With today's perspective, I know there would people who would refute hand me with along list of hell on earth. But I do not think, there is any. However gross the situation is no place is hell. There are still people with compassion, love and humanity. There are still humans ready to cling on to the goods. But hardly any leader to lead.

Just one place my friend? Well Iraq would definitely spring to mind that is one place I would never want to go to, not for a free ticket, not for food, not for all the money in the world! Or any place with soaring temperatures either! So countries that have too much heat I would steer clear from. I can't bear temperatures over 80 degrees! So providing it was a cold country and relatively safe, I know no country is 100% safe nowadays, but I certainly wouldn't go to to countries which are risky and put myself in the firing line!

What an excellent discussion, balasri. One that I will need to give some thought to and revisit. I'm responding with this for ease in finding it again when I have my answer.
I love discussions that make me think.

I agree. An excellent question to raise! (Sometimes people have very lame messages to start discussions with, that seem just like an excuse for "one more post".)
I saw this in the MyLot Digest and had to come see what others were saying!
Were it not for the warfare and political unrest, I think the Middle Eastern countries would be really fun to go to. But I want to live to see another day as well.
I asked my grandson (19) and he said "Antarctica" :-)
For myself, I have to admit that I have a big affinity for Europe, Italy in particular. I'm not really attracted to China, but I think I'd go there if someone shouted me. After all, I wasn't attracted to USA either, but when I went there in 2001 for my son's wedding (he married a wonderful young lady from Mississippi) I had the most marvellous time, and truly loved it. So I might end up loving China too if I went there.

Well seeing as how I despise hot weather, any place whose temperatures are very high would be on my list of places I wouldn't want to travel! Also Iraq and other war-torn areas would be on my list of places to avoid too. Other than that, I am up to travel pretty much anywhere! Interesting question with lots of interesting responses!

I would not go to a war zone. The most dangerous places that I have traveled to are Nairobi, Israel and Los Angeles. I had a safe time all of them. The worst experience I had was getting attacked in the Maldives and it looks like paradise there. I would not want to go to Iraq, North Korea or Afghanistan. I love traveling and have had superb times so I would like a free air ticket and stay. I would prefer to buy my own food.

Hi balasri, again this question has made me thinkboth logically and emotionally. Logically I wouldn't want to go to a few middle -eastern countries, Afghanistan and a couple of far-eastern countries too. I would fear of physical harm in going to these places. But the places which I wouldn't want to go to, unless I have the power to bring about any kind of positive change in these countries, are- famine stricken nations like Ethiopia, Namibia, Congo, Somalia, Sudan etc. To bring about a some change for the better, even for our country too, would be to unite and strive for it. Even if we save one life its worth. Here I have a picture for you balasri which has haunted me since I have laid my eyes upon it.

God that is so cruel.Well I fell very very guilty having my food Daffodil.I too feel like doing whatever I can to do away with these heart wrenching situations.Turning a blind eye to these kind of scenes is more horrible than the real situations. The picture sure is haunting.

That's absolutely correct what you say balasri!! Turning a blind eye to these kind of scenes is more horrible than the real situations.

There aren't as many places as I thought. However, I have no desire to go to either the North or South Poles. Too cold even if they are melting. Most places must have some intrinsic visitor values. Oh, Zimbabwe. There's a place that you'd have to be mad to visit at present if you're English and white!

hmm, I think I definitely don't want to go are countries that have a war right now or pretty dangerous to live even though I'll be given a free air ticket and free accommodation. I really will not risk my life for that. Perhaps, I'll just convert it into money that is if it's convertible to cash, nonetheless, I rather not take the offer than took a journey that might risk my life.

Wherever a volcano is actively erupting and could swallow the whole town or city they're sending me to.
Boyfriend asks how long the stay would be.

I would never go to the Middle East for obvious reasons, and I would never want to go to France, although I'm probably the only one who feels that way. Also, I don't have any desire to go to South America. I'm sure there are wonderful people there, but with all the drama in so many countries on that continent, I would rather not go anywhere in that direction.

Well, i think for the time being... i do not want to go to Iraq... even if i want to my passport wouldn't allow me to... i also do not want to go to Afghanistan... but when the war is over and there is no longer any terrorist around... i would consider traveling to those two countires...
