I couldn't think of the right place to post this, so this is as good a place as any. And since this interest hasn't had much activity for a while, I thought I'd spark it up a bit. So, I'm working on a research paper for an ethics class. I'm looking inot exactly how much of our tax dollars are spent on wages alone...and it is heart breaking...really. Anyway, I've looked on about 10 or so government websites which have this financial information. Within a day of this research, my computer began freaking out...completely...kicking me off line, terminating my programs, and then eventually completely locking me out of my system. I tried system restore and went back to the last update...nothing. I tried running in safe mode and troubleshooting that way, everything ran perfectly. Logged back on, and everything froze up. So I went back to the day before I started my research....guess what? Yup, everything is back up and running smoothly. Since then I have recieved the same update that went back before...things are still running smoothly. So I asked my instructor what he thought about it. He said he doesn't think the powers that be are interested in my paper...but he doesn't know that I publish my papers online after my classes are over. I also asked my tutor helping me edit my paper, she told me to go to the library for my research. What do you think? Is the government sabotoging my research paper for fear of the truth actually getting out the general public? Is payroll really that important for them to protect? Could my measly small voice actually threaten them enough to sabatoge my computer?
