the 2000's music

Ok, so here's the deal: 60's - Beatlemania, Elvis, flower power, Pshycodelyc rock... 70's - Classic rock, disco music, punk rock... 80's - Hair bands, Power ballads, Sintetizer... 90's - Grunge, Alternative rock... But, how about the new millenium?? Which is today's music? It seems to me that we're in a cruzade (bs?), what music defines our nowadays society? PS: About the decades and their music, feel free to correct me in anyway. 8P

That is a good question. Not sure what bands it would be. I guess my first thought would be singers like Brittney Spears, Pink and so on, as they were very popular for a time. Goth rock seem to be a bit of headway for awhile, too. The music that is sung on American Idol is popular, too. That is what comes to my mind first when I saw the question!
