Sup MyLot? Lets talk music. Who is your favorite artist or band and tell us why? For me, my favorite artist of all time is Prince! Prince is maybe, in my opinion, one of the most talented and creative artists to ever emerge on the music scene! This cat smashed the Pop, RnB and Rock charts! He writes all of his songs, plays most instruments and arranges all of his music! He was one of the first artist to use the internet to market his music when the record label was trying to screw him out of money! Then, this man hit platinum status in cd sales, without selling one cd; just gave them freely with each ticket sold at all of his sold out concerts, now that's genius! Now he owns all of his rights to everything and is one of the most respected and iconic living music legends ever! My favorite Hip Hop artist is Rakim (Of Eric B & Rakim) Rakim has to be the most well respected unchallenged hip hop artist ever, no one wanted none! For yall youngins jocn Lil Wayne and these new so called rappers, try a real lyricist! This man can fade anyone on the mic, still today! He was way before his time, the flows, the coming together of thought, the delivery, MAN! This cat reminds me of myself on mic:) Anyway, that's me, whatchall got? Taripre$

That is a pretty good question and music is very important in peoples lives because I do not think people could live without music, because music adds color and it can make happy times even happier, and sad times seem a lot less sad, when it comes to music I have a couple favorites my favorite country artist would be Garth Brooks because he has a lot of great songs, and he is like one of the top selling country artists in history, and on the last CMA's he got the Crystal Milestone Award which he more than deserved, and then my favorite rock band would be Sum41 because of their song Fat Lip because I love that song, and it motivates me to keep going and it makes me want to trash stuff.

Well personally I beleive that Muse would have to be my favorite band. They're a sensational band , they have been referred to as one of the bast live acts in the world at the moment and I would agree. I saw them in New Zealand last November and they were brilliant! They are different from most rock bands they use classical techniques in their music, which is used to great effect. Their light shows are incredible and they are a band who are prepared to sing just every song in thier arsenal to please the crowds. Anyone who is a fan of Muse just has to buy a copy of their HAARP tour DVD : Live at Wembley. It is simply on of the best concerts ever.

I heard the song Fat Lip, never knew who made it, Garth Brooks is pretty good, Muse sounds familiar or I could be thinking of something else! Thanx for the posts guys, and you're right, music does add color and meaning to situations! Some songs are there at the exact right moment, like they were reading your mind when it was written! For me, its Heart... Their music inspires me beyond words and thanks to Ann Wilson, their lead singer, I've chosen to be a singer -hope my parents wont read this, 8P-. Even though their members have changed through the over 30 years of music history, sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson have stayed and they're currently the creative spark behind the group. Ann's powerful and unique vocals + Nancy's incredible talent on guitar = perfect match. They have been a great inspiration for other great female rock artists: Pat Benatar, Chrissie Hynde (The pretenders), Terri Nunn (Berlin) and many more. Their music has changed from a Led Zep-a-like sound in the 70's, to friendly pop rock melodies (includding some major power ballads), to going back to their early influences in the new millenium and they have proved their capacity of making great music with different styles all the way through without losing themselves. So... thanks for more than thirty years of amazing music, Queens of rock: Ann and Nancy Wilson. Hopping for a new album this year. happy MyLotting and have a nice day! Xp
