I am starting this discussion because it's just an awful reality that the world now is in crisis. I believe that this is because of too much corruption in some organizations an even in government agencies in each of our countries. Sad to say but the effects of corruption in my country is tremendous. It has been sending more children to the streets to beg for food to eat, sending more teens to drug addiction and vices because of parents' absence-- they work abroad, and sending many adults to jail for stealing, drug pushing, burglary, etc. just to eat three descent meals a day. How terrible! What are the effects olf corruption in your country? Thanks for sharing.

Of course, country-wide poverty. Hunger, wars, immorality. Many people just suffer due to this selfishness.

Im sure My India is the first place in corruption. becoz for corruption economic status of people became lower and it effects on the bright future of our country. India is full of black money, if it comes outside India will become 10 times greater than United States of America. But it will not happen no one co-operates to this...........I really looking forward to see beautifull India

Hi, my country also feel bad effect of corruption. Naturally, my country(Indonesia) is very rich, but there are many people live in poverty, because some bad government agencies. Many children can't continue their study, cos they don't have enough money to pay school's bill. and the job fields are decreasing. And many people who live in poverty just eat meals once a day. They even do not know if they could eat again tomorrow. There are many sad story about the effect of corruptions in my country T_T

The worst kind of corruption on the planet is in Africa, starting in the south, which is the worse. The most corrupt people are the government, and the biggest criminals are the police. They are continually blaming the former government for the bad things that they are now doing. You know the country, yes, thats the one. It's known as South Joke eeyah. because it's the biggest joke South of the equator.

I think its main effect is really poverty, the taxpayers become poor as they fill the pockets of politicians who grow richer everyday. I guess that is really the reason why the country is not progressing because of selfish politicians who only think of their future,. I guess the rich would always become richer and the poor would become poorer if that is always the situation here. :)

Corruption is everywhere, probably in most countries. It is funny about some countries that we never seem to hear of their troubles or if they have troubles. Man by nature has an evil side. If you believe in the Bible, look at Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Corruption causes many problems and many people suffer. We are all humans in this world together. If everyone only could act in a manner that would positively affect others in a good way, the world would be a lot better place to live in. Many people do not realize how short life is. They take it so for granted that they will be alive the next day or even the next minute. They do not realize how fragile life is and how easily it can be taken away. There could be so many positive things that people could do, starting from when they are young, by their parents, siblings or mentors teaching them to do good for others, to be unselfish. Even many animals in this world need our help, our care and our love. If only people could realize that we are given one chance, may be 50, 60 or 70 years on this earth, time goes very fast, to do good for others, the world would be a lot better place. Greed and selfishness rule the world today and it is a sad fact. Self-centeredness, an image created by the media that one has to be beautiful or handsome, one has to stay looking young, is a falsehood. The aging process will get everyone. No one will escape it. Acceptance of the fact that we are all unique and turning our thoughts toward helping others is, I feel, one key to happiness in life. So many lives are wasted. It is something that has always existed in society and something I wish would change for the better.

corruption does not just start like that. it is there in the society since the ancient times and it is all because of normal people like us. people chose government. people form corporations and if people stop bribing, there wont be any officials who accept bribes. people make society. so, i think people should change before thinking of changing the society.

i live in a corrupt country.. it's been affecting the lives of people most especially less fortunate ones.. it sends thousands of children to streets, thousands of people die of hunger each year, it provokes people to commit crime, no infrastractures, developments, programs and many more.

Apathy. Mostly Apathy... You watch our country systematically take the rights our people spilled their own blood for, and my generation and about the last 3... are watching...and doing nothing... They simply say, "WELP we still have it better than any other country" But I get so angry because they sit back and let my country ROT while they enjoy the last drop of goodness it has and leave the problems for my generation to clean up. and yet even my generation wont. because my generation and those before it are too apathetic, Noone remembers what it is to live inside your means, or to simply survive, they think they earn things they NEVER did simply because everyone else has them. and are totally ignorant of politics because the politics dont directly effect them (yet) and they "just arent good with politics" I and my children will suffer because of their apathy, ...because pretty soon, we wont be able to say This country is still better than any other.

I laud your sentiments. I just wish that people will be less apathetic for our countries to 'grow' even just a little bit. Thanks a lot for the thoughts.
