Not really. It may be frustrating especially when you really took time and brain cells to write the discussion. But I've learned discussions which talks about the common things receive more responses. People rarely reply to discussions about technical matters. In case a discussion is really technical, it must be delivered in a non-technical way.

yes.i agree.you couldn't have said it better.
i find the same situation as what you said.it seems the more simple the discussion is the more reponses it will gain.
i've tried to start a professional discussion in the former.but just two person responded me.

I always appreciate a response but it never really hurts my feelings if people don't respond. Its not like I was talking to anyone specific, so no one has an obligation to respond... if that makes sense.
I sometimes check the no responses just because its a fun way to select posts. I don't do it because I feel sorry for anyone. I just do it, cause I do.

yes i do feel the frustration when no one responds in my discussion. i rarely start a discussion so when i make one i always hope that someone would respond so that i could earn many points in one stroke. but if no one responds after a few hours its just devastating for me

so far all of my discussions have gotten at least one reply
the topic of your discussion may not be the problem
for me the way i find a topic "of interest" is i check topics from my interests, that makes sense right?
the other way i find discussions is look at what my friends are writing about
i think the key to getting replies is being seen
if you have a low number of friends then make more they will see your topic and most likely will reply 'cause that's how they make a few cents
also always watch where you are posting, choose an interest category, your discussion will be found more easily if you do this whenever you can
so make more friends and place your topic correctly and you will always get a reply from someone (well thats what works for me anyway)

It is only natural to feel a little frustrated when you get no responses at all. I try to find a subject that I think will be of interest here. When I first joined there was a few posts that got no responses. But as time went on my posts got better and I got at least one response on my posts. A lot of time there was more than one posts.
