The past 2 day my son has had a substitute bus drive on my sons route for the bus. Okay my son is 4 keep this in mind. Yesterday my son was sitting in the forth row back when the preschoolers are supposed to be up in the first 2 rows. When i watched the bus drive away my son was scared he looked at me like "mom what do i do". So I followed the bus to the school and i went to talk to the person who is in charge of the buses. She stated to me that the drive did not know that the kids are supposed to be up front. Then today i went to the school cuz my friend needed to go there and the she had an appointment that she had to go to. There was a little girl who knew my son and she said that my son was sitting on the floor. So then again i went to talk to the lady who is incharge of the buses. She proceeded to give me an attitude about the situation. So i said i needed to speak to her boss. When i did so she got more pissed. Okay when i walked in the office i was calm as i should be. I told her what was going on she said that the driver said no one was on the floor. Why would a little girl tell me my son was sitting on the floor of the bus if he wasnt. Then when we started to go into her bosses office, he started to yell at me and demand that i sit down! Then touched my arm thats when i started getting mad. He told me that i needed to shut my mouth. Ummmm my 4 year old son was on the floor of a moving bus!!!!!!!!!!! Do you think there should be cameras on bus's for school. They dont have them!!!!! This i have a problem with. Also the fact that my 4 year old was on the floor and the driver had no idea. Anyway i know it is hard being a bus driver i understand, But seriously if you found out you child was on the floor what would you do. There is alot more to this i am just giving you the just of it.

i would have been pissed too! him getting so defensive and plain mad, to me at least, flat out says that it was wrong and he knows it! another great reason for the school buses to have cameras in them.
maybe you should drive your son to school until the regular driver gets back. id be worried about him being on the floor and something happening.

You know i was thinking about that as well. I think the normal driver os back tomorrow and if not i am taking him to school cuz i am not going to have something happen to him. If something does let me tell ya the will be some major problems for that school if you know what i mean. I mean this bus driver wanted to lie and say there way no kids on the floor. Im sorry why would a 6 year old little girl want to lie to me about that if you know what i mean.

OK first of all. What is the bus driver's job if not to keep the kids safe. I mean is it not part of a school bus driver's job to make sure each new kid that gets on the bus is in a seat before the bus moves? I mean isnt that why they have all those neat little mirrors. And omg here's a thought.. If you cant tell by looking in your neat little mirrors, TURN YOUR LAZY BUTT AROUND AND LOOK THAT WAY!! If the bus driver is unable to accomplish this simple task, maybe they dont need to be a bus driver, or maybe the school should have another adult ride the bus specifically to do it for him.
Second thing, if a parent comes to the supervisor twice in 2 days with a complaint against a specific bus driver, the supervisor should not get agressive. Maybe, just maybe, there is a problem with that bus driver. I mean hello! parents dont like to take time out of their day to make complaints for no reason. And when a parent comes in because they just found out their 4 year old was sitting ON THE FLOOR that parent has the right to be upset and wanting to know why this was allowed at all. Especially when it has already been established that there are certain protocols for pre-schoolers on the bus.
Third thing, who does the superintendent think he is? GOD? I'm sorry he wasnt there for the first part of the conversation. He didnt see his employee getting snotty, rude, and agressive with you when you were trying to tell her what was going on. And to come at you like he did, yelling at you and demanding you sit down like you are a child, let alone TOUCHING you. What was he thinking? You dont come into a situation like that all fired up it doesnt help anything. You dont talk to parents that way no matter who you are. And you sure as hell dont TOUCH anyone, especially someone you dont know. He was way out of line, as much or more so than his little bus driver supervisor.
Finally, I thought it was a LAW in colorado that there be cameras on at all times on school buses. Why was the camera not on that morning. Or was it and the supervisor and bus driver were trying to cover their butts. Im sorry but the cameras are there for a reason. They are not decorative. Use them... PERIOD... whenever the bus is being used to transport kids. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Honestly, I would be so outraged, you just have no idea!
OK, not sitting in the first 2 rows, ok, that is a mistake I could let pass by, providing after going down there, it did not happen again! If I found out my son of sitting on the floor of a school bus, it would take a lot of people to hold me off of the driver!
And for someone to tell me to calm down about a cituation like this, and then to put there hands on me? Oh no, just isn't happening without one of us getting hurt!
YES, I think there should be a law requiring cameras on ALL buses.
Personally, if I were you, I would contact my local news station (Fox if possible) and tell them this story, and all about what happened. I bet they would just LOVE to interview the school, and school board about this situation!

Well i know that this is not over with. I am going to take it further and i am going to go to the school bored first to see what happens. If nothing is going to get done with them. Then thats when i am going to go to the news. There should be on reason in the world that a 4 year old should be sitting on the floor anyway. No matter what and if the driver cant handle drving all the kids to school then why be a bus driver. You have to have patients with children and you have to like children to be a driver. So if he cant handle that then there is not reason he should be driving. Well Thank you for you input it helps alot you have no idea how much it took me to want to slap that jerk right across his face. Well i will talk to you soon. Have a good one.
