Call centre rudeness

Some rules for call centre workers who wish people not to be rude to them. 1. It is my call, I dialed the number, I decide to whom I speak. If I ask to be transferred to your supervisor, DON'T go away and have a private chat with them, transfer me immediately. 2. Don't take a job on a English speaking call centre unless your pronunciation is clear and you have learned English intonation. I pay for your service, perhaps indirectly, and I expect to be able to understand you. 3. Don't interrupt me whilst I am speaking, didn't your mother teach you any manners? It is extremely rude to interrupt someone, learn to recognise the natural cadence of the language then you will hear when I have finished speaking. 4. Admit it openly when your company has screwed up 5. When you have screwed up apologise sincerely 6. When you apologise, do not say, "I am sorry you feel that way" that is not an apology it is an insult, implying I am deranged or that you are insincere. 7. When asked quickly give your name, the name of your boss, the registered company name, number and office. 8. Learn some math and teach it to your accountants so you can do simple arithmetic and get your bills correct, it is not my job to add up for your stupid brain dead accountants all the best urban

You might wish to add that if you have an automatic call direction package where you have to "press 1 for this department" etc and there are more than three levels, do not be surprised if I am already angry by the time I get through to you, particularly if the reason for my call is not covered by the options. Plus if your system is busy and either gives no indication of how long I will have to wait to get through or the wait is too long and it is a premium rate number, do not be surprised if I am angry already by the time I speak to you. Please do not be surprised if I get angry when you either say that I am through to the wrong department, or please can i get someone to call you back? Does anyone ever call back?

Plus, if you are a trainee and do not know the answer, please openly admit this and transfer me to someone who does. Please do not keep putting me on hold to ask this other person my question and then try and pass the answer to me.

Great ones but you missed the one do not call me at odd hours you feel like, I may find you and give you a good bashing. They have no manners and have no respect for person's time and place. I wish these mobiles were never invented in the first place no peace since they arrived. How do they get our number in the first place.

I couldn't agree more..The call centers for companies is becoming more and more widespread and it's a nightmare sometime..I have had several such encounters as you are descrbing with the cell phone caarrier I use. I can call and even though I press the right button for the righ department I get passed 2 or 3 times each call and then when it's an issue of their mistake sometimes it's to the supervisor I go or worse yet to the dial tone ..then I have to start all over and by the time I get a live person have absolutely no patience for the passing game.

Did you just have a recent encounter with them? It seems that you are kind of pissed-off to post the 8 commandments.

How about when you call to cancel some type of account or service that you no longer want or need and instead of just canceling your account as you requested, the person on the other end of line says: "How about if we offer you such and such a deal?" and you say, "no, I just want to cancel." and then they say, "Well what about this deal?" and again you say, "no, thanks, I just want to cancel." and then they say, "How about this other deal?" and again you say, "no, please cancel my account."...and then they ask you if you'd like some other deal and this goes on and on and then finally you get mad and you say, "Look, I'm not interested in any deals that you have to offer me. I do not want this service/account any more. Cancel it now and stop hassling me!" and then they say something like, "Okay, no need to be rude!" Even though they are the ones being rude because they do not simply do as you requested in the first place. What say you to those people?

Hi urban, once i was treated with harsh manner by a guy ( call center employee). I had a problem and was discussing with a girl( she too) for more than 15 minutes. Perhaps it had annoyed that guy who was sitting besides her on that call center. I heard a voice something like "stop this nonsense" of that guy. It made me angry and cut the call and immediately complained to superior authority.

Nice discussion with nice tips, i use my cell phones for communication, only problem some times is 'no signal' or 'low signal', to avoid this i have sims of 3 different service providers, if one's signal is poor i use the other.. Thanks for sharing lol God bless you, have a nice day ahead. Professor ‘@Bhuwan@’. .

Wow! That sounds expensive, that you have to have 3 service providers. Here tow of the service providers allow you to use both services, so although you pay only for one you get the reception of two. Still when you are out of town, reception is patchy all the best urban

If I had a phone job, common courtesy would be my first approach! I'm always very surprised when someone is rude or even worse, condescending!
