I like spool and knifty knitter knitting because I can actually do it (my eye to hand coordination is terrible) plus I can make rugs and hats with them. I'm going to learn how to do some other things, too, with them.
I like recycled crafts because it's fun to see what I could make with stuff that I would ordinarily throw away. And you?

I like the fact my crafts relax me. Can do them while watching television when home or take with me. Many items I make are small enough pieces to put in my purse. I make various items with plastic canvas and yarn. While waiting for appointments, I am less impatient if I am using my fingers to keep busy. Have been to doctor appointments where I had to wait an hour to see the doctor. The finished product is always exciting for me.

All wonderful reasons to love your crafts. It seems they really suit you. Wish an hour was a long time here, I've waiting as long as 4 hours for some doctors. I don't have them as doctors any more. Clinics here are sooooo overloaded. Which ones fit in your purse? Thanks and take care.

Because I cut the plastic in pieces and then attach together, many projects can fit into my purse. I carry a ziplock bag, yarn, scissors and needle with me almost everywhere I go. Just depends on where I am headed for part of the day. Sometimes I can work on crafts if I'm at work and things are slow.

I like patchwork quilting because you can create beautiful things by sewing patches together. It takes less precision work than embroidery or cross-stitch. Also, it is relaxing while still stimulating the mind with creativity. Plus, you can put it down and pick it up again without too much trouble remembering where you left off and what you have to do next. And you get a lovely finished quilt out of all your efforts.

Wow! I never looked at patchwork quilting that way, but when you think about it, all that is true. That's why I like to create topics where I see things from someone else's eyes. I have seen some beautiful patchwork quilts, esp. the ones made with satin, silk, velvet, etc. Thanks and take care.

i have just gotten interested in altered art and atrist trading cards... so i am enjoying just creating without rhyme or reason. i have been scrapbooking for someone (for $$) and that has been fun, but you have to make sure it looks professional. i also like crocheting, beading and cross stitching and hope to learn to knit at some point over the winter.

Terrific for you! Free creation is like an art form. I can see why you would love that. Great that you've gotten paid for scrapbooking. Neat that you like crocheting, beading and cross stitching. Good luck on your projects, esp. learning to knit over the weekend. Thanks for responding and take care. Do you have an altered art or other picture of your crafts that you would like to share?

I do counted cross stitch and quilting. I really like to see a pattern develop. With my cross stitch, I'm always amazed when I see a blank piece of fabric suddenly come to life. I've been doing it since 1992. The quilting is something that I taught myself and it's done completely with 2" squares. I like the challenge of it and the thrill of accomplishment that I get at finishing one.

I love walking along the beach and checking out what the sea left behind. Taking those items and seeing what I can create with them.
I make handmade jewelry, specializing in sea glass creations. I find making jewelry, creating polymer clay pendants and even knitting to be very theraputic after a long day at my J-O-B (ugh)
I have also use the knifty knitter, and have made some beautiful scarves with it while watching TV or during long car rides. It is very easy to use and you don't need to focus all your attention on the knitting.
I also decorate old plastic food containers with my boys and we use them for their art supplies, pokemon figures and we just finished our Disney vacation savings bank. All of the pictures were copies made on paper that came home from school with announcements on them (these schools sure waste a lot of paper)we copied pictures off the internet, cut them out and pasted them, along with some pictures of Mickey Mouse and friends from old coloring books (after coloring them... of course)onto the large container.
It's fun and it teaches my sons to try to reuse things before putting it out for trash or recycling.

What a beautiful post.
I've been walking around collecting milk weed fluff in the fields. It's neat to see what else is in the fields and even how many kinds of milkweed we now have and what they look like in this stage (we have butterfly weed or the one with orange flowers, we have white milkweed flowers, purple milkweed flowers--at this stage, some of the pods are spikey, some smooth, some of the stems are green, some brown, some purple and soon they'll all be black).
I think walking along the beach to find beach glass is terrific. I have walked along our beaches to find shells. Most of our shells are too thin to do much with, some shatter when you pick them up. I remember walking in one area when I was a kid with my Mother. We used to get driftwood and make wonderful things.
Your ideas for recycling sound terrific and what fun. Everything you do for crafts sounds amazing. Love that heart pendant, I would never think to put brown and blue together, but you have perfict ability to combine shades of colors. Thanks and take care.

I did a home show last night, well, it was supposed to be a private showing to a customer that doesn't like shopping online and it turned into 4 women and a young girl. I ended up selling 1/3 of the items in my shop, but I have a feeling I accidently deleted that polymer pendant.
I believe I still have it and I'll check as soon as I get home tonight!

I love knitting, but i've only been taught a simple scarf so thats all i make..long..no designs on it scarves. xD ive always wanted to take a class but i couldnt because its hard to fit it into my routines. I love knitting because its addicting to me so its kind of hard not to like it, and its really simple once you get the hang of it. Its a huge stress reliever for me and also to calm myself down. I knit whenever im stressed or angry or impatient, but also when im hyped up. ;) i also do cross stitching crochet embroidery and a few other things but at the moment im addicted to knitting. :3

I like knitting because I find the repetition soothing in easy pieces, and I like the intricacy of more difficult knitting. I also like the finished product.
I like sewing because, to be honest, I like the sound the sewing machine makes. I feel very Little House on the Prairie, even though I am not making clothes.

I like creating something.....they giving it away. The best part about crafts is that you relax while you use your imagination and talents.....then get to share it with everyone! I do stamping...and scrapping.....painting on glass and a whole bunch of other things....I would rather work at my crafts then watch tv..

I like knitting because I find it relaxing and very calming. After I've exercised and cleaned house, it just feels great to sit down and pick up my knitting. I particularly like knitting very simple patterns so that I don't have to think much about what I'm doing.
Speaking of recycling items, I have cut up old tie-dye t-shirts to use to line some of the purses I knitted and gave as gifts and people went ape over them! I've got a huge bag full of clothes that my husband bagged up to take to the Goodwill. I said I wanted to look through it first to see if I could cut up any of his shirts to use as linings for purses. Also, he's got some sweaters in there and I think I saw an article in my knitting magazine about how to "re-purpose" yarn. That means, you take apart something that's been knitted and use the yarn to knit something else!

Yes, I've seen the recycled yarns from sweaters articles. There are two sweaters that I have that I may try that. They holes in them and I don't know how to darn, plus they've stretched so much that I don't like the way they look anymore anyway.
My brother and his girl friend wear tie-dye all the time. So that's a great idea. Maybe I'll knit a carrying bag for groceries and use the tie-dye shirts for inside. Doubt I can get their shirts away from them, even when they get old. They use them for other things then. Take care

I make a lot of hand crafted jewelry and home and body products. I love making new things, having a variety of things to do and making beautiful things. I also like working through the project, such as making a new recipe or planning a beaded necklace.
I have tons of other arts and crafts I would like to get into and hope one day to make money selling them!

I went to a class one time in which we made olive oil and beeswax skin care base for products, it was nice. Jewelry, I always marvel at other people's abilities. I don't seem to have the eye-to-hand coordination for that, but some people have such beautiful pieces, they're truly artists. Thanks and take care.

I got a spool and knifty knitter too. I haven't gotten to playing with them yet but it looks easy to make hats and scarfs with. I am a crocheter and knitter and love quick and easy stuff. Currently I am making a scarf with fun fur. I love the feel of the material. I also got some other knifty knitter products I am going to try. Doing Needlework, destresses me after a long day and when I need to keep my fingers busy besides surfing the internet lol.

If you have the really large, circular knifty knitter, thick and quick yarn works great on that one. 4 ply only works on the smallest one. Haven't done much with fun fur, but eyelash yarn, the kid's crank knitting machine, I've used it there and it was fun. Thanks for responding and take care.
