Is it really over after you's break up?

After my last serious relationship, I could'nt even imagine myself being with another girl...... Sad, I know. I was in a state when it ended. What I did to ease myself off her was to have frequent 'catch-up' sessions with her after the breakup. She wanted it to as she was also in the same mindset. This went on for about 3months and the end result was that we got over each other.
Is this weird? How do you's get over an x?

Hi,
I don't think that's weird at all, with my ex I kept having him back and only actually finished it when I knew I was at a point where been without wouldn't hurt me so much, so know I think it's more understandable than weird.

Hi there kdogg87
I don't think this is weird at all, I think it is really a good idea as time is a great healer but it is more painful just to let go completely. My last boyfriend popped in to see me from time to time and then it became more infrequent until he disappeared completely from my life. I haven't heard from him or seen him in what must be about 6 months or more. I was not in love with him but he was me and I think that was the way he dealt with it which was fine by me and if I saw him in 10 years time that would still be too soon for me!!
