Last Night I Cried Over Him!

We broke up over 3 months ago. It was an 8 months relationship, mostly spent being far away from each other since he worked overseas. We always text and call each other, making each other feel special and loved even if we were far apart. then 3 months ago, He called me up, said He is here in our country and He wants to see me for a formal break up because he is happy now with a new found love. I refused to see him knowing that I won't be able to compose myself and I might end up being at the losing end than I'm already am by crying in front of him. I told him that what has been said is enough and I do not wish to know more. I do not want him to go into details of how, where and why, it would hurt me even more.
Last night he came into my thoughts and whenever he does I normally say a prayer for him to be happy and all his aspirations will materialize. And no, I never made efforts to contact him again what has been said that he is happy now is enough for me to know.
I'm not the tyoe of girl who has so much pride but I guess from my end keeping some dignity is quite necessary.

that's alright.. smile and be happy.. try to forget about the pain and live a new life. move on, you have to know that's it's part of loving and that you deserve better than that guy who exchange your for someone else. He doesnt love you, so there is no use crying over somebody who doesnt care. I know it's easier said than done. Crying is alright.. it's part of the cycle, but you have to be determined that you want to move on and that you want to be happy.. as long as it all comes from you, then it should not be that hard to do..:)

Hello austere!
Thanks for dropping by. Such good advise from a nice lady. Yeah, I was pretty much determined to move on. I had a date with my son and my friends after that. I surrounded myself with people who loves me and appreciated me for who I am so I will be reminded that I am beautiful. I have no use for a self pity party. The circumstances wasn't on my side but I made a choice of turning it into something benenifial on my end by celebrating life.
I sincerely thank you form the bottom of my heart. such a lovely community to belong to.
Love,
Sheena

There are many many many guys out there who woould stumble into your life, and that would make them the happiest man in the world. there is a reason to be sad, because it does hurt when someone you love leaves you hanging like that. But it will get better, it just takes time and truly feeling the love of another before closure happens. =]

Hello Dluther!
Thank you for your encouragement. I hope to meet that man someday when I'm ready but for now I need to focus myself on elevating my way of life. I am grateful for what the Lord has given me, the wisdom that He bestowed upon me is such a great blessing because I can deal with life as it comes. I love myself after all this is what I have for sure. I can change the way I think.
I have a feeling that I'm gonna get lucky anytime soon. In a Christain way of saying, I am blessed. I am very hopeful that my life hasn't even started yet. I might not be able to contain the happiness that I will feel in the future.
Thank you, and hey, welcome to mylot. I hope yu will enjoy it as much as I am.

You did a right choice of not seeing him anymore. Although it was unfair with your side but I guess you are right just wish him happiness. It is fine to cry no matter how long but in the end I am sure you can move on. It is easy for us as a woman to move on compare to men. So cheer up and keep exploring!

Hello jstmarfz!
Thank you for confirming I made the right choice. I often wonder how I would have felt if I agreed to met him that day. A formal break up would have been nice but if I end up shaming myslef, I'd rather not. As surely as he came into my life then someone will come along again and who knows it's frog prince this time.
I'd like to meet him someday but I want to be totally free from emotions. And by that time I have surely moved on. I am not even sure if meeting him would still matter in that distant day. But I want to be the winner in my own life after all I am the star in my own movie called, "My Life." Nobody else is, and I won't allow anyone to crush me or put me down. I've been there done that. Enough already. what is the use of pain if we willnot learn from it.
Thank you,
Sheena

Yes, after a relationship breaks up, especially as happened to you, sad feelings will come up from time to time, especially in the early stages. I like your mature and unselfish way that dealt with the situation. You did not need the details, yet you are not bitter and resentful, and actually pray for his happiness. You are a very special person. May God continue to strengthen you and may He one day help you find the right person for you.

Oh 1hopefulman, there you go again with that superman look! The mature and unselfish way was learned the hard way. I always believe that the world is a classroom and I NEED TO LEARN MY LESSONS. I hate repeating lessons. Letting go was one of my hardest subject, I've repeated it time and time again and it gets harder every time. The good thing about what happened was I finally learned it.
To love someone is a freedom therefore if one wishes to leave because he found his way, then they have to be free without that extra baggage of guilt. He served his purpose in my life. The relationship was a gift from God. People who comes in our lives and make us feel very special for a certain time has good intentions for the relationship. But even so, as they come, they will also leave. And you embrace both the coming and the going. There are those who intend to stay with you for the rest of their lives but this is mostly a mutual friendship and understanding. Romantic relationship is more complicated because it demands so much from each other, so much expectations.
We get hurt for so many reasons if one says goodbye. It's horrible. But stop for a while and ask yourself why you're hurt. Is it ego? Is it attachment? If it is ego, then the focus is yourself and it is not true love. If it is attachment, then it is in your thought life that this relationship mostly existed. Love is happy with the truth. It doesn't mean that you won't cry but the joy and the pain collides. I wouldn't be happy holding him against his will.
In this world, nothing is personal. Life happens. And you either glide with it or it will sweep you to your feet.
sincerely,
sheena
