How old are you when you first visit a dentist?

Kayil's first dental experience - This is my first born child, he will be turning 5 this Friday and I was so proud of him when he agreed on having his teeth checked by a dentist, this happened last March.

I heard that a child should visit a dentist early to prevent his teeth from decaying, it also said that it is good going to the dentist early on to prevent kids from experiencing tooth aches. That it is OK for kids to have tooth filling. MY 5 year old have his first dental visit few months ago, his teeth are decaying and the dentist put some fillings on it, say it is to prevent him from tooth ache pain. How about you? How old are you when you first had a dental appointment? I knew for most this is the most dreaded appointment. I am too! although I am not afraid of the dentist chair I still got nervous when I do sit on it. Are also afraid of dental chairs? DO you get nervous with it?

I went to the dentist when I was 12 I believe, it was then I had issues with my 'baby' tooth which were not dropping properly and it caused a lot of pain. I saw many articles which recommends going to the dentist twice every year to ensure proper dental hygiene. Yes, I was darn scared when I went onto the dentist's chair, it got worse when the person stuck poking foreign metal objects into my mouth. But in the end of the day, there was not much pain. Overall, it was a nice experience. I hope your child did too :)

In my twenty five years age I did't met the dentist till now. But I saw so many people suffer with tooth pain. But I went the dental hospital with my friend to her checkup. At that time I saw the dentist chair. Really I am afraid of that dental chair and I fell little bit nervous.

I think I was about five when I first visited a dentist. I had cavities even then--I have soft teeth, and we lived in Vancouver, Canada and the water was quite soft. That was before fluoridation. I have had many visits since then, but now that I am older, what teeth I have still left have been crowned and capped. They did not get fluoride until I was well in my teens, and so it did not do any good then. I am still nervous about the drill. Cannot stand the noise and think that he is going to slip.

I went before I was kindergarten. It was on my pediatricians recommendation. I think that is a pretty standard age. My daughter went the 1st time at 4.

I'm not too sure about it but I think I went to the dentist for the first time when I was 8 yrs old to remove one of my tooth which was shaking. I really get nervous when I visit the dentist when I see the gloves, the knives and certain other surgical instruments they use. Will close my eyes tightly till I am done with it. But the bestest part of visiting a dentist is that we can eat a lot of ice creams since the doctor will ask as to have something really cold Cheers

I think i was about 7 years old when i first visited a dentist. I do not like to go to a dentist as it seems very scary but i has no choice at that time because it is compulsory from my school. I still remember the moment i reach the dental clinic, i cried non stop and it was so embarassing.

i was 12 years old when my first visit to dentist. Before, i was afraid of sending me to dentist. I don't know why but now if i could only visit my dentist everyday i will do it. But i don't think it would be possible. But as much as possible i would visit my dentist every three months.

When i was about 7 years old. I clearly remember the day my father took me to the dentist's. He picked me up as usual but something unusual happened, he bought me snack. Then, he brought me to the dentist's. That was really terrible for me!

i had my first visit to the dentist when i was only 5 years old. i had tooth extraction. i was given anaesthesia. but the needles were really big as i remember it. and they had inserted it so many times. i was just in pain. and that gave me big scare of the dentist. so from that time on my second visit i was already 13 years old. and it didn't hurt as on my first time cause on the second time they have only used the injection once to give anaesthesia. i don't know why on my first one they have to use the needle so many times before they extracted the tooth. it was really painful for a boy like me then to experience such painful tooth extraction.
