I am not a smoker but I will applaud your government to take this action. Smoking is so bad and to be inhaling second hand smoke makes it even worst. My boyfriend he smokes and everyday I wish he would stop because it is not good for both of us health. Every Government Worldwide should take this stance but as we all know there are a heavy taxation on Smoking so they will be taking it slowly.

There is no proof that second hand smoke is as bad as they say. If you can find the study please post it.

in australia, each state has outlawed smoking in public for several years. smoking is not allowed in restaurants or anywhere food is served, in clubs and pubs, and in many public places. there are heavy fines if you do. very many aussies, including myself have quit smoking because we have realised that it is harmful to health

I think that a law stating that you cannot smoke in public places is a great idea! But there are alot of people not adhering to the policy. I know that even outside hospitals people stand right infront of the doors smoking. Here in Newfoundland there is no smoking in any public places including bars and clubs. I like the idea. I have a son with breathing problems and If there was no law stating that we couldnt smoke in public places then i wouldnt be able to take him anywhere. That is the same for people with asthma they would have to live secluded lives! So i think that it is a great idea!

I live in London and I think the non smoking law is a ridiculous idea and people who are old enough to smoke are old enough to make up theyre own minds I am sympathetic to non smokers and passive smokers but this silly law is not making a massive differnce exept noone is inside pubs anymore they are outside smoking and the pubs stink noone wants to eat out as they cant enjoy a smoke after the meal and thats about it what a waste of time
