Have you ever wondered?....

why Voldemort didn't put a curse on all the other Horcruxes like he put on the ring and the locket? Dumbledore lost a hand and his life while trying to destroy those Horcruxes, yet the only curse on the cup was the spells of the Goblins and almost nothing on the tiara!! Did you feel that JKR could have made those a little more difficult to destroy than it was made out to be?

Interesting question! I think Voldemort relied on his protections for the other Horcruxes. He's clearly overconfident at times--remember, he doesn't think an underage wizard could possibly defeat him, so it's easy for Harry to get past some of the protections. He didn't feel the need to put even more magic on them. And it's possible that there was a lot more on the tiara than we saw, but it was destroyed pretty quickly and spectacularly. Who knows, maybe it spat poison when you dried to destroy it... but since it was destroyed by all that fire, no one noticed!

Wow I never even thought about that, good point. She was under a lot of pressure to finish quickly maybe she just didn't have time to include them. I am not sure.

I think wit the cup... Voldemort took advantage of the security measures put by the goblins... and he did not see it fit to put a curse on it... and with regards to the Diadem... well... we do not really know if there is a curse or not... since it got destroyed before Harry got a hold of it... at this point i think Voldemort got a bit sloppy since he thought it would be impossible to destroy all or even one of the Horcux...

Ya... he might have thought that nobody is going to know about it.. so he got sloppy.. that might be one good explanation. I always wondered why he didn't try to make more once he knew that some of his horcruxes got destroyed.. Maybe it would have rendered his soul more unstable.

i've been thingking about it as well but i didn't think about it throughly
when it pops in my mind i was just thinking that JKR actually did it on purpose
because she always very accurate with all of her writing that i trust she did it for a reason
that's why the idea was just..sort of..pass me by
but now that you brought up the idea my second guess is the same like everybody else is because no one tried the horcruxes before

Ya.. that's why I thought why JKR who was very careful with her writings didn't make it very difficult for Harry. In fact, one of the fan fintion stories of the 7th book made it very difficult with curses around all the other Horcruxes too.
