There ARE angels all around us

About 5 years ago my aunt and uncle adopted 3 brothers that have a very abusive past. There have been ups and downs of course.. but for the most part the boys are basically good boys.
My uncle isn't in the best of health, and they don't have health insurance except through the militarty which may or may not pay to cover all of his needs.
The youngest of the three "Jeff" has a class trip coming up to Washington D.C. Of course it is expensive. My aunt and uncle would not be be able to afford it and Jeff knows this. He did not tell them about the trip because he has a big heart and knows it would be too much of a burden.
My aunt's neighbor called her to talk about the upcoming trip. She knows things are tight for them as well. She wanted to talk to my aunt about paying for all or a portion of the trip so Jeff and her son could go. My aunt, caught off guard, was flabbergasted because she knew nothing of the trip.
I am not sure what happened after the conversation, because I was crying out of happiness for this angel of a neighbor that would do something this big to make this desrving child and his family so happy.
I imagine though, that my aunt did accept the help. Her biological son also gave her money to help pay for it, and so did my cousin, who told me this story last night. I wish I could afford to help, but alas, I can not.
I wanted to share this beautiful story with all of you to let you know that there are angels living among us.
Have you a similar story?

I don't have a similar story to tell, though I wish I did. It is good to hear that there are kind and generous people in the world today. I sometimes get discouraged by all of the news of abuse, theft and murder. I wish the mainstream media would run news stories about things like this instead.
The world could use some cheering up and a good example to follow.
Cheers to your Aunts neighbor!

All of the bad news IS discouraging. There should be a news network that reports only good news all of the time.
I did, however, find a website that reports only good news... http://www.goodnewsnetwork.org/
Maybe that will help cheer you up :)

This story has touched my heart dizzblnd. They are more than angels in this materialistic world where every person tries to put down other person in one or the other way. These 'angels' are the richest person in the world as they are doing selfless work. may God Bless them!

That's so nice. When my dad worked at this one place him and his co-workers would "adopt" 7 families for the holidays. They would pool their money and buy food, clothing, and Christmas gifts for the family. They never met the families but they would get their information from the Salvation Army and then just drop the stuff off to them and they would deliver it to the family.

God moves people to do amazing things in the flesh. We also have our angels that watch over us every day. What a beautiful story.

It is so nice to hear stories of kindness like this. It reminds us that good is still here and we have the choice to do so. We can be an angel to anybody and touch people's lives forever!
