How can you say that the relationship is fair?

Do you have to be fair with your partners?? h0w? I'm in a relationship right now.. He's not mine.. He already has a family, an understanding wife with two kids.. I don't know how and why i enter this kind of relationship. Everytime me and my partner go hanging out., all expense were divided into half.. is that fair? .. Then every time i will ask him to treat me, he's saying that he has a lot of expenses and doesn't have extra money for that.. but every sunday, they go out with his family and i know that all expense was paid by him.. is that the consequence of having a guy which is not 100% yours? I don't know, for me, money is not a big issue but sometimes we have to be practical, and we'll feel if someone's just using you while the real world is not with him... I really don't know...
