Have you tried to be a 'paid to post' blogger? Advise...

I have recently got an opportunity to post an article on my blog about a site that I think has no connection or significance with what I am already posting in my own content on my make money blog. It seems like an interesting site and they're offering $9 for three paragraghs with links etc; Seems like a small amount that I could make elsewhere (without confusing my readers) so tempted to decline it as it is not related to my material. What do you think? Would you write the article even if it was unrelated to what you normally write about for the few bucks? or would you pass? Are there any paid to blog opportunities for make money blogs? or Is it worth starting a new blog where you can talk about all kinds of stuff so you can accept more opportunities?

My blog got approved on a couple of payperpost sites but the opps are rare I'm finding or only require bloggers in North America mostly The slots for the eligible opps fill up pretty quick too

Hi marina321, I have no idea about blogging, but the idea is that when you write an article, it is sometingh you are interested in not what you are not interested in so I think you should pass it otherwise it can get very boring. Tamara

$9 for three paragraphs sounds like a sweet deal. You can always create a new category on your blog to suit the post. Cheers!!

Yeah $9 for three paragraphs is not bad but I think I need to be very creative for this site as it seems quite boringcompared to what I am writing about already

I have been facing this dilemma myself lately marina! I haven't decided what I should do. I like the idea of my own blog but not sure I could make money right away on it. Where you get paid on the "paid" sites, but I am not sure how well those go and pay is not great as you say! I wish I could help but I am struggling with this as well. Let us know what you decide to do and good luck to you.

It is indeed quite a dilemma; I wonder how you drive much traffic to a blog about 'anything under the sun' I guess a review anything site would be the way to go... to get more opportunities. My current make money blog has been approved on PayPerPost and Blogsvertise but the opportunities I'd like to write about are rare

Well, If you don't feel right about it then just don't do it. Why pimp yourself out if you don't like it. But then If you believe that it will get you something better then the worse over comes to the better. It is up to you. But if you get to add. your sites and they read and sign on under you then that is part of the better. Or you get a better paying thing that is also better. Your friend onlydia.

I do paid posts, but I have a disclosure policy I follow. I have an active account with three pay-you-to-blog sites and the lowest pay they have for a post is $5. Eligibility for the really well-paying opps depends upon your blog's page ranking. I have also been approached directly by marketers to blog about their product or site. Some pay really well and some have the same rates as the established sites, but never lower. The thing is, accepting the opportunity you mentioned depends on what you want for your blog. My blog is mostly personal, so, yes, it's a bit jarring to see a post that's kind of unrelated to the overall theme of my blog, but my regular readers know I do paid posts anyway. I started a new blog recently to be able to do more paid posts, but it's still in the process of being reviewed by the paid blogging sites. With a new blog, it may take a while before you are offered paid opps.

I haven't been offered any opportunities like that but I think it's the nature of my blog, which is book reviews and publishing news. Also, I have been very sporatic, and I know they want someone who publishes every day. If only I could get in this rhythm, I would do a lot better. That said, I have often wondered about starting a blog on another topic that didn't have such a specific subject or had a more general appeal. There are a ton of book bloggers out there, just from having explored the subject on my own. Anyway, good luck to you with your decision. I think if you really want to make the money, you'll follow the advice of the guy with the Asian movie site. If you want to protect the integrity of your site, you will decline, and opt for developing a new one.

Cheers AnythngArt! I am looking around for opps and considering starting a new blog; this opp is still open but I will pass it for now as I am already making that much money with most of my sites anyway Thanks

I haven't gotten any offers from any paid blogger sites. I wouldn't post turn any of them down myself. I simply can't afford to.

Snowy, I see you're with payperpost... Have you found any opportunities on the site? They seem to fill up slots quite fast

I opened my account here though I blog on other non-paid sites. I have not used it as much as intended, but I am trying. And I think for the pay you are speaking of, I would try harder. I have written blogs on things unrelated to what my usual topics are. My only one on here now, is simular to one I composed on another site, the topic of it is a videogame, when I normally compose articles on politics, ethics, philosophy and so on. I had an article on how I thought videogames where undermining manufactured intrests in the politics of our society, though I wrote one with a positive review of a videogame. Did I do it for money? No, not at all. I have a genuine interest in that videogame, and that is what I felt like writing about. Did people get confused? A little, but it was my general writing style, still hit the current audience on now a different level, and seemed to just fit. What I am saying is that your readers may not get as confused as you think, you could make it work. And if you feel like you can't, but it seems worth the money generally, why not have another site you can use for that? I have never had that sort of offer. If you do not like that one, perhaps another will come along someday.

To me, it really depends on your blogs' opportunities. It sounded like you really have offers and that declining one wouldn't really hurt. If you're blogging is really for the love of it and that being paid for it is just extra then I guess it's a no for the offer. Now, if you're really into just earning and don't care about the content of your site (supposing you have a theme / topic), then go accept it. But to me it really depends on the subject. If it's interesting, then accept, blog!

Thanks duke The opp was boring and a bit off of what I normally do and I am already earning with the sites I am using so I will pass it for now. I think starting a new general blog is definitely an option but drawing traffic and to it and PR could take time
