What makes a best friend?

What are the things you guys look for in a friend that makes him/her your best friend? For eg. Share the same interest as you or when you need help your best friend is always there for you? Does your best friend need to be of the same age or genre with you? Sometimes i feel that friends that are of the same age are the ones that understand more about us. Come on, lets share!

My best friend is a girl like me and we're of the same age. My best friend knows there's something wrong even when I have the biggest smile on my face. She is a hand that is always holding mine no matter how close or far apart we may be, she is someone who is always there and will always care. She is a feeling of forever in my heart.

I agree with what you guys have said.. it definitely makes alot of sense. however it is difficult to find a person like this. GIRLBITS, you are really lucky that you have found ur best friend and seems like your best friend understands you alot. Do treasure your best friend!

i think that there are too many things which make a good friend or a best friend.
but in my opinion the Truth, Sincerity and most the important the respect make the best friend.

For me a best friend is someone whom you can trust your life and you can tell her or him your darkest secret and yet you are sure that he or she won't tell your secret to anyone. He or she is willing to support you all the way as long as she or he knows that it will not do you no harm. He or she will protect you from someone who will hurt you and do you no good. It is not necessary if you are at the same age or not to same gender as long as you understand each other.

I think that everyone has people that they consider friends but very few can be called good friends and even less can be called best friends,I have a couple of good friends who I do not really trust because they all owe me a lot of money and only come around when they need or want something which is quite annoying if you ask me so me and my fiance try to avoid them,and me and my fiance have a couple of friends that are becoming good friends because we are hanging out with them more,and I have two best friends,one is my fiance who always knows how to make me smile,and make me laugh,and she is always here for me,and the other one is a guy I met in school who is like a brother to me,we have the same birthday but I am three years older than him,and he would do anything for me,and I would do anything for him.

A best friend is someone u do things with all the time. Someone u can tell things too and they keep it a secret if u want them too. Somemone thats always there for u. Someone who wont lie to u and talk behind ur back.

What I look in for a best friend would be someone that understands me and is a very good listner and cares about me and what i think and feel. Someone that i can confide in things to without worry and someone that has my back in everything no matter and someone with a great sense of humor and with a big heart to love
